Hold-up and accident
A few days ago, I was held-up by some little **** at 2:30am. He basically put a Hungry Jacks (Burger King) takeaway bag on the counter and demanded money in notes, saying he had a pistol in the pocket of his jacket where his other hand was. Little bastard didn't get much, but what happened afterwards makes me all the more determined to catch him. After he had fled & the cops arrived & gave my statement and so forth, I started driving home and ended up getting t-boned by some lady in a 4WD at a traffic light intersection. I'm pretty sure it was green on my end, but she said it was green on her end as well. I also was fixated on wanting to catch the little bastard, so I could've seen the lights as being green instead of red. Either way, if it weren't for what happened earlier, the accident wouldn't have happened.
I managed to help compile a decent identikit image of the guy at the police headquarters in the city, so hopefully they'll catch him soon. I'd love to have 5 minutes alone with him and beat him to a pulp, but I'll let the justice system rape him for all he's worth and put his sorry little arse behind bars!

That's quite a story. I hope they'll catch the guy.

ya man, bottom line is life goes on and you've got to keep believing that no matter what life deals you. Even if you get a bad hand the rest of the world knows that you won't fold and if you're not all-in you're not in the game. The point I'm failing miserabally to make is that no matter what happens with anything in your life the basics come down to it being just that. Life, and that's what you can't let go of or stop living to the fullest.

Skyshark, any updates on catching that guy yet? I hope the police find him. I also hope things turn out ok with your car.
I got into an accident just last week, at a speed of about 80km/h (50MPH). At one point I was doing about 80 (or 50) going backwards. Anyway, I'm fine... well I guess that's obvious otherwise I wouldn't be here typing away.

Nothing so far, but I guess it's only a matter of time now. I'm sort of counting on him to try something and slip up somewhere (taing into account the guy might push his luck and try again somewhere nearby in the area).
I'm feeling pretty much back to normal now, and basically doing stuff that the trauma counsellor recommended, such as getting out and about and looking into launching my career (eyeing a position in Melbourne that was readvertised recently). So thanks for the support, everyone.

Heh, didn't take long. The police got back to me today and said they picked up someone matching the description I gave of the robber and that the guy they picked up has done something similar recently, so it's a very good chance that it's him. So, I'm heading down to the police station tomorrow to look at some photos and confirm if it's him or not.
I'm very certain that if it is him, he's going to get slammed into the wall and so forth.
