Resignation From Hero6

#1 Post by Swift » Sun Jun 18, 2006 3:06 pm

As of today, I will no longer be working for Hero6. It has been a pleasure interacting with you, the fans and visitors. It's a pity I can't say the same for some members of my team.

This is most unpleasant news, Swift, I had no idea!

It's sad, yet I hope that now, after taking this action, you feel relieved.

Well, all I feel is sadness of what the project has become and how much I worked for it. It was once dear to me.

Too bad, Swift. I respect your reservedness about the situation. We're here to support you.

That's a shame. Found something else to devote every waking hour already?

I'm sorry to hear that, Swift. I hope things (with you, not the game) are okay. Take care of yourself.

EDIT: rebuttal left apparently directed at nothing now removed.

Well, this certainly comes as a shock to me. I've been following Hero6 for a couple years now, and when I first joined this board, I immediately recognized you from Hero6. Tis a shame that you've left the team.

Cross-posted from QfMG:

Whoa!

I joined the Sierra community in late 2002, and obviously QfMG didn't exist way back then.

So, a young man searching for QFG related sites stumbled across Hero6.  (I've always loved QFG the most.)

Back then I was a hardcore Hero6 fan, I downloaded the MP3 files. I have some from 2000, even.. I must've visited before I was even a member of the Sierra online community. I still love the music from back then.

I played the old demo. I loved it.

It truly felt like it'd work.

Later on, (2002-2004 I think) I was on the Hero6 IRC chan, and spent a lot of time with someone I didn't know called Spliff, who.. ran the project?

Anyways. It's sad to hear that after all these years, this sort of thing is happening. I'm glad Brassfire took it over, but what the hell's going on? Can someone speak freely and explain for those of us who aren't in the clique? 'Creative differences' just doesn't quite cut it, for someone who's followed this for 6 years now.

Regards,
- Spike

Well, us on the team really shouldn't answer this sort of question - it starts rumors. This sort of inquiry is usually handled by Swift, in the PR Departm -

Oh, blast.

Long story short, then:

Don't jump to conclusions, please, about anybody taking over anything. It's all still up in the air. Thank you.

So you're the mysterious man I'm sometimes mixed up with. I'm also Spikey over at IA.

I remember a time on EzBoards when I used to have the nick Spikey III....

Aha. :) Never visited IA (since, it's relatively new, isn't it?), although obviously I've heard of their work.

Hehe. I've been Spikey as far back as early 2002, way bck when I joined the Space Quest community (if you've played Space Quest 5, you'll know where my nick comes from).

People nicked me "Spikey" when I was still a teenager, with lots of waxed spikes on my head....and because of the fact that I live in a city which is nicked "Spike-city" sometimes. I started using the nick as soon as I got an internet connection. Funny. Maybe we should make a thread about where everybody's nick comes from.

Swift, I'm so sorry to hear that. I hardly ever dropped by there, but I do know that you were really devoted.
