Our favorate music

#1 Post by seraphimdreamer777 » Sat Oct 14, 2006 4:43 am

Well I just found out the name of a classical score that I like its called canon. First time I ever heard it was in the rap song C U When You Get There by Coolio. I knew it was a real classical score but it took me a while to find out the name of it being that I didn't think till now to check an encylpopedea web site for the Coolio song.

After finding this out I thought why not make a thread about our favorate music.

I like all kinds of music pop, rock, country, rap ect. ect.. But I'm slitly oblivios about when it comes to bands and stuff.

I have 2 favorate songs they both are tied as my favorates and they are both from video games they are Lucia's Theme from Lunar 2 and Melodies of Life from Final Fantasy 9.

So I thought why don't we all talk about our favorate songs so feel free to list your favorate songs and tell a little about them.

I don't actually have any favorite songs, but I'll contribute to the conversation in my own way.

My favorite singer is Russell Watson, at least in terms of his angelic voice. One thing I have to hold against him, though, is that he is a "crossover" artist (someone who performs both classical and contemporary music). I'm not trying to say that he should perform one style only, but he juxtaposition of these different styles on the same album makes for a strange listening experience. If he were to release separate albums for each style, then I'd have no problem.

Strangely enough, my favorite album has nothing to do with music at all. It's Bill Cosby's 1968 comedy recording 200 M.P.H..

I'm into a large variety of styles.  To give you an idea, my current playlist includes:

Texas Faggott - Back to Mad (hear it in this video)
Arrested Development - Tennessee
Bubba Sparxx ft. Big Boi & Killer Mike - Ms. New Booty (remix) (I don't care for the original much though)
TLC - Creep
Neuron Compost - Tockz Eek (great remix of Toxic)
and some Orbital, Prodigy and Fatboy Slim songs

Bascially, if it has some energy, a good tempo or that right vibe, I like it.

lately I have been listening to a Wide variety influenced almost not at all by myself. Pearl Jam, Relient K, HIM, CKY, CCR (some other 3 letter abreviaton bands... BTO comes to mind) Snow Patrol, Jack Johnson, Bad Religion, and the Rocky Horror Picture Show Soundtrack.

On overlooking my choices Relient K is the only one that I got for myself but I like them all, I suppose music depends mostly on mood.

My musical tastes are really weird: Rammstein, Queen, The Sounds, Weezer, Weird Al, Jesper Kyd and various video game soundtrack artists.

And I only listen to The Sounds and Weezer every now and then. Not too often.

I listen to Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Phish, Yes, Bruce Hornsby and Cyndi Lauper on a fairly regular basis.  Don't ask me how Lauper fits into it.

Well last week i got my birthday money $100 from my mom and ordered Buggles: The Age Of Plastic on vinyl the first record I've ever owned with the exeption of (please don't laugh) a Snow White record,a Superman record and a mutiplication record collection. Funny thing though (you can laugh at this) I used to steal my moms Elvis records and play them at top speed on my record player cause I thought it sounded funny back then. Of course I have more respect for the king now a days (who doesn't) but I just thought it was a little bit funny. When I get my record I'll let everyone know and just in case your wondering the rest of my birthday money went towards a Sega CD.

Well I've got it! My Buggles record was awesome I don't know how they became one hit wonders. I love all they're songs I've only heard the record once so I haven't memorized all the songs yet exept Video Killed The Radio Star of which is the main reason I got the record and by the way I got my Sega CD also. ;)
