I have a chance to buy a 486 w/100 mhz, and all the games that I want to play should run on this machine except possibly for quest for glory 4. Is this computer too fast to run the program? Anybody know?

You'll be fine. I played QFG4 back in the day on a 486DX2/66, and recently got a 486DX4/100 for such classic gaming -- QFG4 runs great. Here is the entry for QFG4 [CD version] from Adventure Classic Gaming.com :

System Requirement

MS-DOS 5.0 or WINDOWS 3.1 CD-ROM.

Minimums:
386/25.
4MB RAM.
Hard drive with 1MB Free.
VGA, Mouse.
Supported Sound Cards: Sound Blaster & 100% compatibles, Adlib, Pro Audio or Pro Audio 16, MT32, General MIDI, Microsoft Sound Card.

Recommended:
486/25.
16 Bit Sound Card.
Hard Drive with 25MB free.

That's the perfect system, dude. Go for it. I have a 486 DX2/66 myself and QFG4 runs fine. A DX4/100 is still not fast enough to make Sierra games unplayable either, so you're good.
