Mac OSX 10.7 Lion
Hello Mac Adventures,
Just in case anyone was wondering, the Mac versions of AGDI Games don't work in Lion. They use an older engine known as CXz and will need to be upgraded to the new CXex engine which works great in Lion. Hopefully we will see an update soon!

Very helpful, thank you. Spent the last hour trying to figure out what I might have done wrong.. Looks like it was upgrading to Lion. /sigh

We do have Lion-compatible versions of the remakes prepared, but I haven't had the chance to get them uploaded to all the mirrors yet. Here are the direct links for your convenience:

Quest for Glory II: Trial by Fire Mac (v2.0)
King's Quest I: Quest for the Crown Mac (v4.1c)
King's Quest II: Romancing the Stones Mac (v3.1c)
King's Quest III Redux: To Heir is Human Mac (v1.1)
Quest for Glory II: Trial by Fire Mac (v2.0)

Thanks so much! For whatever reason I couldn't figure out how to update the wrappers being used that allow your games to run.Anonymous Game Creator 2 wrote:We do have Lion-compatible versions of the remakes prepared, but I haven't had the chance to get them uploaded to all the mirrors yet. Re: Mac OSX 10.7 Lion
Hello all,
Im running Lion 10.7.3 and I've downloaded the latest copy of Trial By Fire (2.0) but it does not load. Double click the icon and it does nothing? Is this a known problem? Are there any fixes?
Thanks,
Rob

I encountered the same problem. I ended up redownloading it, but using the one linked in this board. If you see a square icon with a purple boarder, that is an older build (January 2011), but if the game icon is a black oval (build Sept. 2011), then the latter one is the correct one which runs on Lion.robbo008 wrote:Hello all,

Running on a 10.7.4 version on a new macbookair. The app loads when clicked in the dock, but then immediately shrinks away and vanishes, without error or explanation, every time I try to run it.
Re: Mac OSX 10.7 Lion
I can't get QFG II to play on my MacBook Pro either, running Mountain Lion (10.8.2). I tried installing XQuartz, but it still didn't work. I then tried reinstalling X11 from my install DVD, as one person suggested, but it appears that Apple has made it so that X11 won't work in Mountain Lion. I also tried installing the version 2.0 of the game for Lion, as someone else suggested, but that didn't work either. Every time I just got the icon appearing in my dock, the menu would appear, and nothing else would load. It looks like the game won't run under XQuartz, and Apple won't let you run old versions of X11 in Mountain Lion. Any suggestions or updates?
