Tierra, how could you let Angelina sacrifice the poor nightingale? I wish there was some way Graham could have saved the poor thing.

i thought the same thing .... poor little bird. well, he does have his part in the end, maybe that will be some satisfaction. or, well, maybe the creators just have a sick sense of humour .... :P

I thought it was an interesting plot twist. The best plot twists are those which involve something unexpected. (and shocking too)

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashs ...

So, the bird was hurt? And you say in the credits that the only animal you hurt is a Wookie...tsk, tsk...

I've played the original countless times, so when I got to that point, I didn't expect anything new. Little to my surprise, when returning the bird to Angelina, it was for a cruel purpose. Then, to top it off, the genie was gone and left a note telling me not to help her. Oh, the irony!

Personally, I thought it was very clever and a good way to change the ending to something that was already so familiar to many of us.

Don't go out the same way you did the last time
You'll break when you fall
Don't make the same mistakes you did all over
You've got to believe in yourself this time

Never fear. The nightingale's spirit lives on. It appears as a spectral image to its kin, warding them from witches and witch wannabe's.

Actually, I'm a huge cat lover, so... hehehe!

You know, even though Angelina was a wench, I kinda felt bad for her when Hagatha showed up and did the unknown to her. What did Hagatha do to her anyway? Killed her I bet.

Well, it couldn't have been unexpected to Angelina. And it's always dangerous dabbling into the dark arts, so I think she only got what she was due! *shrugs* I can't feel pity for someone who's so false. Hagatha at least never claims to be a nice old lady!

---
<img src="http://liralindriel.bbboy.net/tags/lira ...

<td nowrap style=filter:glow(color="mintcream", strength=#+15)> Lira Lindriel - - - - - - - Magic is real - unless defined integer!

Backyard Discussions ~x~ Lira's Duchy ~x~ My poems, stories and tags

And one more thing Tierra, you really should consider making a speech pack for king's Quest 2. I bet everybody agrees with me.

It's an expression. He means that you shouldn't put too much hope into getting a KQ2VGA voice pack because, due to the amount of time and re-scripting that would be necessary to add one into the game, there isn't going to be one. In other words, if you hold your breath until it happens, you'll be holding your breath forever... <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

~Wolfgang

No

#21 Post by Wolfgang Abenteuer » Fri Feb 14, 2003 7:17 am

Afraid not. Given that there was considerably more dialogue in KQ2VGA than there was in KQ1VGA, it would take quite a bit more time to do. They'd have to record the voices, then script them into the game, then re-synchronise the music for certain scenes. All of that would take a large amount of time that the AGDs thought would be better spent working on another project (QFG2VGA). So, no, there will be no voice pack for KQ2VGA.

~Wolfgang

It's so sad and so true. While there are many fans who would love to have a voice pack (myself included), ultimately it comes down to what the AGDs want to do with their game. Right now, the AGDs want to work on QFG2, and I can't say that I blame them. Think about it. After spending more than a year on a single project, wouldn't you be ready to go on to something else?

We can always delude ourselves by saying that they will at some point revisit KQ2 and record a voice pack. Whatever gets us to sleep at night.

Don't go out the same way you did the last time
You'll break when you fall
Don't make the same mistakes you did all over
You've got to believe in yourself this time

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub57.ezboard.com/broyalquestfor ... athoth8 at: 2/14/03 1:28:08 am

I would like to have a voicepack for KQ2 so I can know what all the characters sound like. And it would be more fun. But I doubt there will ever be a voicepack.

I think...

#25 Post by adeyke » Fri Feb 14, 2003 8:12 am

The vast majority of players want a voice pack for KQ2VGA. However, I think quite a lot of those would prefer not having the release of QfG2VGA delayed that long; it could take many months more work to get the voice pack done. So it's just a matter of prioritizing.
