hopelessly stuck in daylight

#1 Post by mjartisian » Sat Nov 15, 2003 8:59 am

Hi,

I'm new to this board and wanted to first of all, thank Tierra for remaking this great game and offering it for free to all of us 'adventurers'.

I've read the board posts that pertain and still cannot seem to get any further. I need help with either finding the glass bottle or going underwater without drowning, so I can get across the bridge.

I have the candle, reed, broach, earrings, flower, mallet, comb, net, stake, l. card, feather & sword.

I cannot find the glass bottle with the cloth, so can't get across the bridge. I tried using the reed to breathe underwater and couldn't.

Please give me a spoiler so I can get past this point of the game.

Thanks in advance for your help.

There's no secret to getting across the bridge, and you don't need any items for it. Just walk.

The bottle you seek is found in the deep. Ummm. Yes. Well, anyway...you can't go down under without the aid of a friendly (VERY friendly) mermaid. And wouldn't you know it, she wants something in return for her help. Everybody wants something...isn't it always the way.

I've tried to cross the bridge a few times and it broke and from the posts I read about the bridge, it seemed like I had to interact with the dwarf to cross the bridge.

Is that not the case? Could it be that I just tried to cross it before I had completed other tasks?

Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for your help. I won't waste any more time looking for the bottle and will concentrate on getting across that bridge, if I ever make it. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

Do you mean that the text you're replying to doesn't show up on the "post message" screen? If you click the big "Add Reply" button at the bottom, often times ezBoards will pick a post seemingly at random for you to reply to. If you click the small Reply link under the name of the last message poster, it will display that message instead. In either case, as you can see, your new message still gets displayed at the end of the thread.

~Wolfgang

Thank you, Wolfgang.

I was expecting each reply to show up underneath the post I replied to, rather than at the end of the thread. I noticed that it did that on several of the threads, but I see from your answer that I'm not doing anything wrong.

There is a patch of reeds sitting on the bank of the lake with the swans. You can grab one from there.

~Wolfgang

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub57.ezboard.com/broyalquestfor ... s>Wolfgang Abenteuer at: 11/15/03 8:16 pm

Oh... I never knew that... I thought the only one was *ahem* later in the game...

That's exactly where I got the reed, Wolfgang.

Well, I finished with Neptune and am now trying to get past Hagatha with the nightingale and ring. I covered the nightingale, then tried to take the cover off, but can't. I know the clue earlier about Hagatha only having one good eye is important, but haven't figured out how to get past her yet! I tried putting the nightingale down to see if the ring would work, but I can't put her down. hmmm.

I wonder if I have to do something else first, like visit the dwarf or find Possum?

Hagatha's sequence is just a matter of quickly dropping in and out. Stay close to the back wall, so Hagatha won't realize you're there. Like Angelina said, Hagatha has only one eye that's truly capable of seeing, so as long as you don't get too close to the center of the cave, you'll be fine. Be quick though, since Hagatha will discover you if you're still inside there as she finishes the chant.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashn ...

Thanks, Erpy. Off to continue trying. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

Luckily, I've saved several times and one of the saves is at the entrance of the cave with it ready to enter. This is about the 10th time I'll be entering.

Great game! Challenging, yet lots of fun.
