Yes I know Spidey in the black suit is different to Venom aka Eddie Brock and the symbiote but for non-hardcore fans I was just referring to it as the venom symbiote which in effect it is and is more commonly known, as opposed to the Carnage symbiote which is Cletus Cassidy and the offspring of the venom symbiote.

Here's my proof of lack of knowledge
heh.. i thought the black suit was just something he donned around the time he fought Venom.. but i never saw or read a single Venom based spiderman episode/comic..
But from a layman's point of view, that's Spiderman in a black suit, not Venom

The black costume
Ah, but it could be. For a time after Spiderman managed to free himself from the symbiote, he still wore a black costume (if I remember, the Black Cat gave him one, initially) that had the same appearance as that of the symbiote. He stopped wearing it after Eddie Brock put in his first appearance as Venom (though, on occasion, he has worn it when all his other regular red-and-blue costumes are damaged or unavailable).Angelus3K wrote:Which is why I said Venom so people unfamilier with Spiderman wouldnt think Spidey was just wearing a black suit ;)
You know, if we keep this discussion up for much longer, Erpy may have to split the conversation off into a "comic geeks debate" thread. I wonder if it would get as much traffic as the Gamers thread?

Woah, the above post seems like you took Bt seriously.Angelus3K wrote:Says you....
I think what Spikey is... probably trying to say is that the arguement above really doesn't matter. I mean, it isn't the most informative debate. But hey, I don't care and it's not my forum so you can discuss it but I think this whole thing is being taken way too seriously.

Actually I was about to mingle right into the debate as a Marvel fan. But I won't, for obvious reasons. :DJamie wrote:Woah, the above post seems like you took Bt seriously.Angelus3K wrote:Says you....
