Haha, well that's about to change. I've just got a promotion at work which includes 12 hour shifts but at least I get a company laptop lol!!

Yeah, just had quite a few things going in real life (moved to Melbourne, had some issues going on with an ex-housemate, gone back to uni to study a Masters degree in town planning, and also about to start a new job auditing people's homes for energy and water usage so they can be eligible for $10000 interest-free loans to put things in like insulation or solar water heating).

It's St. Patrick's day and all my people just canceled our plans.

I just wrote an essay on the way nutrition is portrayed in children's literature. I titled it "Life Giving Water, Nectar of the Gods" which actually works with the subject matteer. Part of me thinks it's clever in a way only you guys would get but the other part wonders if it's plagiarism

I started a layout project that is way to ambitious. The weather here is just starting to get nice and I spent 12 hours of the past two days working on this. I think my eyes are going to fall out of my head!

Sad news, Frank Frazetta died today, age 82. He was an awesome illustrator that learnt how to draw the hard way, by going to art museums and staring at the drawings for hours. A real loss, I say.

That is sad. His art was great... and very well known to sci-fi/fantasy fans.

Thanks for the thoughts guys, I'm okay, just a bit bruised and achy. Crayauchtin, sorry bud, you'll probably sound like you're going through puberty all over again, so my fate has been. :P
My X rays will come back tomorrow so hopefully nothings cracked. Blech!

Oh no! How did it happen? Glad you're ok.

I was in a crosswalk and a car that was stopped just started going all the sudden. It decided not to stop until I was on the ground. I don't understand how he didn't see my giant bright green umbrella or, you know, how I was right in front of his car. Luckily I just went underneath the car itself and not one of it's tires. It's weird though, as soon as he got out of the car, all I could think to say is: "Why the hell did you do that?" Which is, unfortunately, in the police report. I didn't mention however that, getting hit by the car had more than doubled the volume on my music and while under the car and staring up at the bumper all I thought was "Huh, I thought I took all the Green Day off my MP3 player."
And then I walked the rest of the 30 minute walk home.
I realize now that I'm incredibly lucky, and incredibly strange.

That's all very surreal sounding -- but I think a lot of things we think would be terrifying just come across as being "orly?" until afterwards, y'know?
And I think "Why the hell did you do that?" is a perfectly legitimate response.

Good to hear that you're okay, though! But seriously, how many people can say "Yeah, I've been hit by a car". That's a pretty cool survival story to be able to tell. I nearly got leveled by a taxi cab at a crossing once, but it's not quite the same. I'm almost jealous...

I've had a few close calls in the past too, but this is the first time anyone's actually committed to it!
It all still feels pretty surreal and kind of weird to talk about because I always think I'm exaggerating or making it up, because really, who walks away from getting hit by a car?
Oh and funny enough, the guy who hit me and didn't think to call an ambulance? Turns out, he's a Doctor and I was actually in the same building he works while getting my X-Rays done. It had the potential to turn into a very sticom-esque situation but luckily didn't.
I'm just glad, two days later, I can joke about it. I love when people ask me how I'm doing and I respond: "Oh man, it feels like I was hit by a....oh waaaait..." It's not a creative response but it makes me laugh.
