I'm currently following this project from some friends that made a course of game design at my university, they even have made a trailer for their game!

Wait that's part of an actual game? That makes it probably about 12x better.
Brutal Legend is awesome, listen to no naysayers.

I don't have a clue how to make the umlaut "u" without using character map and that takes too much dang time. So forget it.

I copy and paste the ones that Brainiac makes, but shhh don't tell!
Re: The Gamers Thread: PS3, PC, Wii, 360... pick your poison!!
You guys don't have a keyboard where you can type the " character and immediately follow it with a u to make an ü? (as opposed to the " character which I create by typing the " character followed by a space)

Nope. The " character is created on my keyboard by typing Shift+'.

"u
Nope. Of course my keyboard seems to thinking that vomiting it's own keys on to the desk at regular intervals is an excellent show of technological superiority, so the fact that it can even make " or u is kind of a pleasant surprise.

Re: The Gamers Thread: PS3, PC, Wii, 360... pick your poison!!
It's been a long time since I've done this but I'm bringing Square-Enix news to y'all from Caves of Narshe. first I'm not positively sure but I think y'all already know The 3rd Birthday AKA Parasite Eve 3 has been on Square-Enix's agenda. As of the first of the month they had released a trailer.
From what I've read in forums Final Fantasy XIII kind of bombed at least it could have been better I haven't tried it yet myself but expect it to leave me wanting more FF remakes and less new FF stuff. Final Fantasy VII may have it's first Nintendo experience on 3DS unfortunately through another sequel.
Also Saga 3 AKA Final Fantasy Legend 3 for those that don't know it wasn't really a FF game. May end up being remade.
Back to FF XIII be afraid very afraid among the sequels will be a XIII-2. I personally thought X-2 was sexy but I know most thought it was the most horrid excuse for a FF game but will XIII-2 follow it's footsteps or will they have a curse on the -2 games.
Square-Enix, partnered with a French game company called Ankama. Tactical Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing game called Wakfu it will be free to play supposedly. And is a sequel to a MMO called Dofus.
Well I hope that catches me up to my unofficial self proclaimed job of AGDI's Square-Enix news. I hope I got all this news correct. Oh well if not you can get the full news at Caves of Narshe anyway aside from my condensed report here. Chao TTYL!

Re: The Gamers Thread: PS3, PC, Wii, 360... pick your poison!!
3ds sequel might be cool but the console itself is just damn expensive, might as well get another console at that tag. I really don't see all the desire for a VII remake I don't think there's much you'd want done to it the ds remakes taking the 2ds into 3d are cool enough. XIV is a bomb but we knew that as soon as it was announced, it was never going to be good. Actually it's been almost 10 years since the last good Square game. I'm thinking it's time to stop caring. They're still going to be insanely popular in Japan and sell millions of copies of everything but for me a company needs to make a decent game atleast once every 5 years or I just don't care.

I smell a VII lover. I think they could come out with something the public will like. I think they have been making a few good games since VII. Such as IX,VII DoC, Dawn of Mana was fun haven't beat it or played it for a while but I get sidetracked real easily. Remake of IV was good. Loved the bonus dungeon in VI Advance and the additions to the summon line up. Though I was skeptic that VI Advance would be any good because those sons of a submariner at Square-Enix.Quest For Glory Fan wrote:Actually it's been almost 10 years since the last good Square game. I think what they did wrong was first going online with XI without at least giving us an offline mode or version like Phantasy Star Online. A prequel or sequel featuring npc's from the game would have even been good.
Second though I haven't played XII. I heard and kind of knew from X that they abandoned the ATB battle system that made the game famous. X was alright though story wise but as far as the battle system it was like Dragon Quest/Warrior dumbed down. I like X-2 100% though because I think the dress sphere idea was sexy and I've heard it has a new game plus feature similar to Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. Which makes up for the Idea of roaming around with out many directions.
Third they focus on the online game, remakes, spinoffs, prequels and sequels plus the original series. So they probably don't have time or staff to make a decent storyline plus the fact that every time they make a port or remake of the series they have to rewright the script.
I'd hope the scripts of the 3DS versions of V and VI if they are created stay the same as the Advance games unless of course VI has duel scripts of the Woosley translation and the Advance translation just so you can play the classic or new scripts.

I didn't like VII very much. I did when it came out but it was never a game to age well. X was the last one I was referring to and that was 2001. Since then they haven't made a new game that's been remotely interesting.

Anyone played Costume Quest by Double Fine? I just played the PSN demo and loved it. Seriously thinking about buying it when I finish Mafia II.

Yes and it's a waste of money. It's just the SNES game on a Wii disc. Complete waste.

To be fair, it is a little cheaper than a brand new game and it comes with a collector's booklet or something. But come on. I could see this for the DS but not the Wii.
