AGDI Birthday Competition!!!
AGDI Birthday Competition!!!
As most of the regular visitors on our forums probably know already, it's been exactly a year since we moved our forums from EZ's servers to our very own AGDI-forums server. Our forums are still going strong and we felt a little celebration was in order.
As a treat in honor of our new forums' first birthday and as a "thank you" to all those who've been so patient with our development team over the year, we'd like to present a select few the opportunity to receive a special gift.
In honor of the aforementioned occasion, we're holding a competition for our fans. Read the info below for details.
------------------------------------------------
Q: What's this all about?
A: We're holding a competition and everyone capable of reading this thread is allowed to enter.
Q: What must I do to enter?
A: Download the program in the link near the bottom of this message. It's a specially created QFG2-themed slot machine and the key to getting a special prize.
Q: Slots, eh? So it's mostly dumb luck?
A: Yep. That means everyone, regardless of age or experience has an equal opportunity to win.
Q: Any special rules?
A: Nope. You start with 1000 dinar and the objective is to obtain the maximum of 15000 dinars. Upon reaching this maximum, you'll be given a code that is to be mailed to our webmaster at WEB at AGDInteractive.com. (replace the at with an @, naturally)
The first 3 people to mail us this code will be proclaimed winners. In order to avoid people giving the code to their friends, we built in a protection. At the start of the game, you'll need to enter the email adress you'll be using to send us the code. Part of the code will be generated by using characters in your email adress. So sending us a code from a friend isn't going to work.
Q: What's there to win?
A: The grand prize is a so-called "Developers Edition" of QFG2VGA. The winners of the competition will be mailed this QFG2VGA:DE when the game is completed. It's basically QFG2VGA, but it'll contain all the debug codes and scripters shortcuts we usually take out before the beta version is released. Want to mess around with your stats, add items to your inventory at will or summon monsters? This version of the game will allow you to do so and more.
Q: Sounds neat. Where do I get this program again?
A: Right Here.

No you can't say that. If you posted immediately after Erpy posted that then that would mean you'd have to have had the program before Erpy posted...which you didn't. Because you said 'sit for hours' which you couldn't have done:I sure can.
..so you can't speak from experience. You realize you'd have to sit for hours to get such a massive amount of cash.
Captain obvious strikes again!
I'm just teasing..

Anyone else find it funny that a topic Erpy made got moved? :P
and I agree with Reptile, anyone can TELL with 30 seconds of their time it CAN take hours to accmplish this...WHY? Because once you close the program, you lose all your winnings and have to start over, so it has to be done in one sitting, which is NOT done in 5 minutes. I played for 30 minutes, and didnt even get over 5000. Since it's all based on luck, you're gonna be sitting down for an unpredictable amount of time if you really want to do this...

Agreed. I played for about 40 minutes and decided that I was *not* having any fun at all. If I find out this was some sort of sick April Fool's Day joke, I'm going to be rather ticked off.DennisBergkamp wrote:Yes, exactly. Although, I'm telling you, it's not based on luck at all. It's based on your current amount of dinars. And I'm also telling you that there is no way you can ever get to 15,000 dinars...
I agree that the thing is rigged... I also hit 11300 relatively easily, even got the jackpot by getting the triple Erasmus, but I got a total of about 6 or 7 (I should have counted the exact number) of triple Ad Avises... Those odds were quite high. Good thing that there is no penalty for that combination...
I'm not sure what you people are doing wrong, but I had no problem clicking my way to 15000 dinars. Okay, so I have WAY too much time on my hands.
[spoiler]
But it seems to take into account the time between two clicks, so frenzied clicking is not really the way to go here.
(sorry if this remark is out of order, Erpy, but I can't be the only one to have figured that out so you probably have three mails already)

I pretty much agree with Thepal. Managed to find the time to try it out, and it was nice seeing all those pics.Thepal wrote:Personally, I think people shouldn't be mad at it being an april fools joke (which I assume it is). I just downloaded it to take a look and was pleased to discover some new piccies of the game. Headshots of various characters. So it's a present, not a joke ^_^
