Where would I find instructions to make a old style vga background. Like the one from Gabriel Knight 1, or larry vga games. (5, 6 and 1vga)
Does anyone know of a site, or know how to yourselfs (and yes, I know about the forest tutortial site). If you have any of the games I've mentioned, you'll see what I mean when I say it looks different to the newer games designed with photoshop.
Please help.
Thanks
Susan

Those old-style backgrounds were usually hand-painted then scanned in. That's why the newer ones like the AGD's use are have a "crisper" feel to them. If that makes sense. :lol I don't know about whether there are tutorials for painting around.

But if it's painted and then scanned, why are the pics so pixelated. Oh well, doesn't matter. If what you say is true, I'm out of luck.
Thanks anyway

Anything will look pixelated if you resize it to 320x200 and then look at it in full-screen mode.

Its also so pixelated because they would require true colour to be able to see all the colours, they only had 8 bit.
