Patch 3 has definitely helped me (your life is spared for now, dosuser ;-P). At least, I can now get back to the mainland after collecting the 3rd gem. Right now, am mentally stuck with something else though so can't say if the patch works to the end... *am stressing my brain thinking*. Will report ...
