Re: Can not find Mermaid
Heh, I remember having this problem with "triggering" certain events in the original. We could see by the screenshots on the back of the box that there was a mermaid and Graham was supposed to get under the sea! He knew how to dive in KQ1, so why can't he dive in KQ2?

Re: Can't install on Mac
I haven't had much luck with trying to get the Mac version of the AGDI games to run on versions of Mac OS X past Snow Leopard (10.6). When I tried running some of the games (such as QFG2) on a newer version of Mac OS X, the game would never start properly. My guess is that these games might need to ...

Re: Thief Endgame - EGA vs. VGA
It is definitely something new. I think they wanted to explain what happened to Khaveen if you were a thief. I love all the extra stuff that got put into the game. Just another great touch the AGDI crew made to the game. I imagine if game companies could manage to keep tweaking and improving games,...

Thief Endgame - EGA vs. VGA
I completed the VGA remake with a thief, but noticed something during the endgame that I don't recall happening in the EGA version of the game. When I'm trying to cross the rope, Khaveen appears, tries to cut the rope, and after that fails, tries to follow my character. I don't ever recall this happ...

Re: Mac OSX 10.7 Lion
Hello all, Im running Lion 10.7.3 and I've downloaded the latest copy of Trial By Fire (2.0) but it does not load. Double click the icon and it does nothing? Is this a known problem? Are there any fixes? Thanks, Rob I encountered the same problem. I ended up redownloading it, but using the one link...

Re: Possibility of KQ5, KQ6, & KQ7 Remake?
I'll always be fond of KQ5, but I feel like while the graphics and music were a huge step up, the puzzle design was actually taking major steps backwards. I really can't believe I managed to beat that game on my own. I don't see any need for a remake of KQ6. It's one of the best adventure games eve...

Re: Possibility of KQ5, KQ6, & KQ7 Remake?
This reminds me of Monkey Island 2, it has an easy mode for more casual or beginner players. Both are nice and fun in its own way. I played and enjoyed both. Do you mean MI3? I recall the Easy/Hard mode in MI3, but don't recall anything like that in MI2 (but my memory might be hazy... On other MI-n...

Re: Can something be done with the chest in the lab?
If I recall from the original (never completed it, and that was many, many years ago), finding the key to the magic wand cabinet was very difficult (you had to know to look atop the wardrobe, without visible hints. In this game, that key was easy to find, perhaps there is another one somewhere, mor...

All you really need is the jewel and the book of all knowledge. Use the book to learn how to con people and the jewel to bribe other people. Get those people to build you a house and find some food.

Re: I've just completed the game with 205 points. I LOVE YO
However, one thing I did like about Gwydion's voice is that it was fairly close to the voice (Robby Benson?) in KQ6. Reading some of the other posts, some had "concerns" about Rosella's voice, but she had several different voice actresses over several games, so it can be more difficult to ...

I also liked that small detail, which then creates a new problem later in the game. Very clever.Xandarius wrote: And also the fact that he cannot swim in this version. It never even occurred to me when playing the original that there is no way he would have known how to swim.

But I am dissapointed with Alexander's voice. it is so scripted... no feeling at all... like a robot. I'd have been more surprised if he sounded like he was ready to dance and sing showtunes during the game... :) Well, there is at least one scene where he does break out into song... I probably died at this point ~20 times. Not sure if there is a glitch, or I just managed to try close to every imaginable combination EXCEPT for the correct one. My initial logic was close, however. Since Seran didn't seem so fond of wealth, I disregarded the jewel. That leaves us with food, constr...

Re: Can something be done with the chest in the lab?
I was wondering about this, as well. Considering that Redux has a couple of missing items to find, I was wondering if Manannan was being smart and locked away a couple of items in that chest. I even contemplated casting the sleep spell to put the wizard into a deep sleep and then search his clothes ...

Why is it that people are getting stumped on this? Food, Shelter, and Knowledge. How hard is that? I admit to having messed up at first when I did it, but I only switched knowledge with tools because I thought it would be more important to know how to make tools and how to use them than to have too...

Re: Easter Eggs / Sierra (and other) references in KQ3R
OK, I'll start. I'm not very far in the game (still just mapping out all of the screens), but while in the Tavern, I did like trying the rum from the leaking barrel marked "D.B.". The resulting death screen reveals that the barrel was marked "Brewed in Spielburg", which means it...

I'm just glad the moose isn't a member of SAG. If he was, our production costs could have sky rocketed. :lol * raise you hand if you understand what I'm talking about ;) * I noticed the moose wasn't part of Sierra's prop department. Hopefully that famous Sierra moose went on to find work elsewhere.

Re: So how did you guys manage to snag a Hollywood actor?
I'm impressed with the voice acting in the game. The person who did Gwydion's voice is fairly close to the voice done in KQ6. Or at least close enough that there isn't THAT drastic of a difference (say, Gilbert Gottfried vs. James Earl Jones). One person didn't care for Manannan's voice, but I liked...

Re: Music spell assistance
Perhaps you're accidentally using the hand cursor on the sand instead of the arrow cursor? If you did that, you'd die as soon as you clicked the sand. You know, that's probably the most frustrating thing in the Redux spell system. I kinda think accidentally using the hand icon should be one of the ...

Re: Ways to dead end your game.
There's actually foodstuffs in the barrels in the kitchen, so I think Manannan simply expects Gwydion to prepare him meals. I think due to the fact porridge could probably be created from the foodstuffs available in the mansion, Manannan isn't suspicious of the porridge. That fish, on the other han...
