Help! I cant get the speech pack to work for the first game

#1 Post by Irishmile » Thu Jun 19, 2003 6:49 pm

I got it to work for II but cant get it to work for the first one. The error I get is "file not found. Please fun the Room editor to create a game first." then the game will not run. When I remove the speech pack it runs again, with no speech. Any info would be nice.

Be sure that you have properly downloaded and setup the game first. Then, make sure that you installed the sound files in the KQ1VGA directory. Finally, run the setup again and be sure that you've highlighted the option to start the game with speech support.

~Wolfgang

What Program Plays Ogg Files?

#3 Post by Evan » Mon Jul 07, 2003 6:25 am

I downloaded the music pack for KQ1VGA v2.0. What program runs OGG files?

Obviously, AGS games support OGG sound format (like KQ2), but I believe Winamp does as well. I'm sure there are more, too.

~Wolfgang

Winamp will play ogg files, but if you are wanting to play the music pack you downloaded, you'll want to just play the game...

i did make a jukebox capable of playing the digital music from AGS games. you just have to have the music.vox file that came with the music pack. you can find AGS JukeBox here.

"Without the fleet, the contest would be on our home grounds, and war is one contest in which it is best to be on the visiting team." -ADM Nimitz

Navynuke, I'd love to d/l the juke box, but that link no longer works. Could you post another?

Thanks!

Navynuke, what a great program. Love the CD player interface.

Heh... Thanks. It was one of my early attempts at scripting with AGS.
