Got in, killed the lion, took the tuft, moved the dresser and the miror to shine on her, AND STILL SHE WON'T WAKE UP! Had it been me, my husband would have walked out on me long ago. Then again, he doesn't have save and restore options.
But seriously, what do I need to do? Or is she just playing hard to get?
You need to move the mirror after taking the bits of hair by the lion. Then you show the green amulet thingie at your bride (the dresser must be there first with the mirror facing her. Then you put the hair in the youth potion then give it to hagatha.

Or at least use the spoiler tag. I edited your post to include it.

You should have the thingie. The youth potion is optional and not required to solve the game.

Hints and a spoiler:
What you need is a green emerald that you get off your sword by using your hammer.
Hope that helps.

It's fine, thanks. Got it, and without the potion.
I'm replaying for a higher score now.
Thanks for all the help!

one other thing. I can't get the town librarian to accept my library card. She won't let me use her quill, and naturally my feather doesn't do the job. I'm stuck on 162 pts, and wish to get as close as possible to the max 185. Not to mention my love for books
what should i do?

Watch her closely and take adventage of the moment when she's not paying attention. Do this as early in the game as you can. (before you even visit the Door of Destiny) You'll be able to get a lot of optional information if you visit the library early and often.
