I'm very glad you started this thread, Im so tired of people remaking SQ2 and failing (sp?). I think there has been over 4 projects that I know of just gave up.

AGAIN!  USELESS SPAM IN THIS FORUM!!!!!! DAMMIT!  DO YOU LISTEN?

Ahem.  Anyway, hopefully later this week I'll get some kind of page posted where a collection of these images can be found, as NOT TO CLUTTER UP THIS FORUM (as someone is already good at doing that).   Here we can post new images, talk about them, and show what you're working on.

I'll have two NEW screens to show on Thursday.  So, hopefully, we'll get some more ARTIST activity here.

Bt
Look dude....every single forum i have ever been on has not cared what so ever about cluttering it....i won't anymore but i asked a tiny q and nobody answered. And i would start my own post about QFI but you guys won't let me. So it's a lose lose situation.

Anyway. I like what you guys have done with the backgrounds. It's soo pretty and shiny and i hope this turns out right.

Uhanimar, this is not every-other-forum-you-have-ever-been-to. One of our rules is to keep things on topic. If you have a random rant, post it in the random rants thread. The keeping things on topic rule becomes very serious when the author of the thread is requesting that it is enforced. Please do not post any non-SQ2 related responses in this thread. That includes responding to me. If you want to discuss the matter, feel free to PM me.

I'm kinda free now, so I'll see what I can do about creating an HTML page. I'll send you the page after it's done. It'll be a plain page though.

Btw, do you just need the pics, or the comments as well on the page?

Swift,

Thank you!  That's awesome.  Just a plain page is fine.  No bells and whistles; maybe just a small description of each screen.

ie. 'The Docking Bay'
    ' The Tower'

Etc.

That would be great if you could help.  Thanks.

If you want, I could help you set up a page on infamous-adventure.com where you can submit the new screen with a comment. It's not that much work.

Please forgive my ignorance, but which backgrounds are currently being worked on? I wouldn't be adverse to trying my hand at visual art (especially considering the friendly and constructive comments directed at the absolute or near novices who have already participated), but I wouldn't want to re-touch a background that's already been finalised. Thanks.

Well, the Berries/Vine screen and the Water Caves could use some work, sure.  I'd love to see you get involved in this!

Duly noted, and I appreciate the vote of confidence for a newbie. I'll see what I can do for those two screens. I suppose even a hardcore computer scientist/mathematician needs to come out of his comfort zone eventually. :D

Good thing I'm still not quite done with the html page, or I would have missed that.

I've gotten all the pics on the page, but they need to be arranged properly. I should hopefully get it done by today.

Here's a quick page for the screens. I'll be implementing a nice content management system behind it soon so that the links actually make sense.

Hi,
Hey, pretty nice yaywar.

Ok, here another. Did some retro gaming (well actually I like to call it research :-)  ) and noticed how grass and dark foregrounds were handled in KQ5 and also did the grass like in KQ5. Think I am going to update the old pics with the new grass. Tried to do more or less the same. Well anyway here it is:

Hey moonlit, it reminds me a lot of Loom VGA.

Decided to drop in. Here's mine:

I think it looks great without the stars and with a blurred out planet. I can finish it more faithful to the original if you wish.

Thanks, Bt and moonlit, yours look great too!

Consider it finished. Add some Wagner and - tada! - the Space Odyssey in all its glory  ;) Overall remaking time: 1.5 hours, excluding a little break.

Any comments/suggestions?

Very good khaveen! Like the star shining beneath it.

Just keep practicing Rog, and look how the skilled artists do it by examining the pictures in games. This let you "level up" a bit faster. Practice makes ...

It does, however, take a lot of time. My average picture takes me about 8 hours or so.

If you want I can show you crap I was drawing at the beginning of my career.  ;) Also, if you want, I can make a step-by-step aka LucasFan gif for you.

Thanks that would be nice. But I know most of the techniques, but sure I'd love a step by step gift.  :)
