I usually name my characters in RPGs "Altoid Mintbreath" which I made up a long time ago. Otherwise, I'll go with "Fred."
So what are YOU going to name your character for QFG2?

Spike! That's what I've always called my QFG characters, unless I intend to play as a Paladin, which in that case, he'll be called "Life Saviour".

I use the classic method, probably inspired by a certain webcomic and I call my characters Fighter, Thief, Black Mage, for the magic user/wizard and Red Mage for the multiclassed/paladin.

I always named my fighters and paladins "The Hulkster" as I was enamored with professional wrestling when I was younger...
But the wizards and thieves were always just "Stan." Oh, and once in a while, I'd mix it up and name one "Bubba."

Nothing like having your name up there as a hero, right?

I also name my hero after myself... Which is appropriate enough, seeing that my name means "He who rules with glory" or "Glorious ruler" :p

Fighter: Qwerty - figured big dumb fighters wouldn't be able to get past banging on the first few keys on the keyboard
Thief: Unknown Hero - a nice anonymous name
Xillion (The Great Xillion after passing WIT) - don't remember where I came up with this one

I myself have never understand why this game don't have a custom avatar picture options or a female hero character as a main character well maybe it is just me who thinks like that hehehe.
I also want to know what the females thoughts about this game when they are playing as a male character. And what name they use on the characakter. Do they use their boyfriend's name or what is it?

My favorite name to use for a character that I intend on turning into a Paladin (I usually go from Wizard to Paladin) is Trizan, a name I jacked from an old QFG fanfic called "The Black Paladin." Trizan sounds like such a cool name, perfectly befitting a Paladin. For a while I did call the others Kurt or Kurt Rayner (my name of the official Sierra boards) and recently I believe I named one Kurdt, but I think Trizan's my favorite name.
I really only play with Wizards and Paladins and the occasional Thief. The game isn't exciting enough for me when I'm playing as a straight-up Fighter.

The reason is probably a disk space issue. There's lots 'n lots of frames to the hero, and these would all have to be withdrawn for a female (same reason: Ultima 8, because the female avatar didn't fit on the CD!)

I'll name mine Vildern. Or Girog. Or Beloring. Or anything else that sounds nice to my ears.
I like Trizan. Don't mind if I steal it? hehe.

I can't recall the names I've used before. The ones I'm playing through QFG1 currently in preperation for QFG2VGA have been namei after Babylon 5 characters so far (Marcus the Paladin-to-be and Sheridan the Fighter). Not sure if I'll keep that up with the Magic User and Thief though.
