I don't want to sound like the typical American guy who yells out, "Hey guys, it's Christmas!"

But yeah, do you know why Rog is under the name The Talking Skull? Because he wanted to start afresh, he didn't want it to seem like a secret to see what we were up to, he enjoyed our company and he's back to rightly do so.

What he did was wrong yes, but who gives a crap now, eh? Sure, he put a few projects at risk since it got many fan groups checking their emails, gulping at the possibility of recieving a dreaded C&D letter. Yet it didn't happen, because it was a lie. Yet it wasn't a sick lie, it wasn't "Haha, I'm going to pretend this was a C&D to scare all the other projects!" He did this because SQ3 was cancelled and he didn't want the people to think that it was obvious they didn't want to finish, so he decided to lie to show that they stopped production on accounts that weren't their fault. So after pulling the stunt, he realized what a mistake it was and he said sorry. You know what, it sure got me because we had to do alot to IA, ruling out possibilites, having to change a few things yet in the end it didn't matter. But I wasn't pissed off, I was annoyed at what he did but it's been months now and I forgave him as soon as he said sorry. He said that not a couple of weeks later, nore days. He did it at the first chance he was able to access AGDI again and he said it.

Now, the cheesy Christmas speech regarding Rog has ended and I feel kinda silly but seriously, it's Christmas and it's a time for giving. And you know what? I think I'll make one more cheesy comment, how about giving him your forgiveness and forget about it.

I think Rog should have just took it like a man and came back as the same username.

I thought the whole thing had blown over anyway. And it is against forum policy to have multiple accounts and I personally think its wrong to pretend to be someone else, just have the guts to be who you are.

Nevertheless lets just get on with things guys. We have a great community here.

Ditto. When Alias publically apologized, he filled his end of our bargain and I filled mine when I unbanned his account a few weeks after that. My intention was to let him stay out of here until the heat was off and then allow him to return as himself.

The new start thing sounds nice, but in practice it doesn't work. The writing style and behavior of all "versions" of him are exactly the same and every time he registers under a new account, he's quickly found out. He's made like 5 different accounts already and I think it's been getting really silly. If he wasn't welcome on our boards anymore as Alias, I wouldn't have unbanned his username after the whole SQ3-thing blew over. Since these kinds of "games" are the exact reason people are suspicious of him, coming back under his Alias account, facing the past with head held high is much more "making a new start" than simply falling back into the ole' tried-and-failed pattern of trying to sneak back on board under yet another nickname and being caught out yet again.

The issue here isn't about whether the SQ3 stunt is to be forgiven or not...it's no longer an issue as far as I'm concerned. The issue is whether or not we're willing to let this kind of thing repeat itself ad nauseum. His reputation got damaged for not being straight with people. This kind of thing isn't the best thing to do to prove critics wrong. If you want to get out of a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.
