Problem with QG4
I have the collectors edition of the QG games and am running Vista 32. I have the latest version of dos box and have been tring to get QG4 to run. It runs fine untill I get to the slope and get an error message every time I go down it. I have tried useing the QG4CD patch but it does not work. Any suggestions? BTW great work on the QG2 remake. You did a better job with it than Sierra.

Get the script patch: http://tawmis.com/collector/
Re: Problem with QG4
Edit the resource.cfg and make sure the line with patchdir goes something like: "patchdir = .\". Otherwise, in Dosbox, it won't use your patches even though they're in the game folder.

Is this in regards to the script patches?Erpy wrote:Edit the resource.cfg and make sure the line with patchdir goes something like: "patchdir = .\". Otherwise, in Dosbox, it won't use your patches even though they're in the game folder.

Re: Problem with QG4
You unzipped the file from: http://geocities.com/belzorash/ into the same folder as the QfG4 program, right?
You made sure resource.cfg is correct.
You may have to load a save from before you entered that area, or more likely, start the game over before the patch takes effect. At least you aren't that far...
The only other thing you can do besides that is try fooling around with the Speed and Detail sliders (put one all the way up and the other all the way down) in the game's control panel (where you go to Save, Restore, etc).

That's a pretty complete site on how to get QFG4 working, including the CD audio voice with the DOS executable.

Lowering the speed slider worked. Thanks.
