There was supposed to be a new closeup with enchanter confrontation in version 1.1, but i did not find that. Where is it?

Oh, and nice walkthrough.

WARNING: Pastal Hashtas Draco Malat (Don't Breath Dragon's Breath)

The enchanter close up happened if you confronted the enchanter in his home after making the emerald. Just hang around the cave and you'll see it. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

Don't go out the same way you did the last time
You'll break when you fall
Don't make the same mistakes you did all over
You've got to believe in yourself this time

by closeup do you mean a closeup of the enchanter's face?

Because the "scaring the enchanter" scene is one of my favorite ones and I didn't see it either.

You get that little Graham talking window and the enchanter's eyes kinda go white with fear but that's about it... <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/eyes.gif ALT=":rolleyes">

<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /alien.gif ALT="0]">

In 1.1, instead of just the normal talking window, you get a close-up screen like when talking with the Door or Neptune.

I liked the close-up much better. Graham had a lot more expression than in the normal one.
The Knight

Close ups

#6 Post by anathoth8 » Thu Feb 06, 2003 5:55 am

I like the close ups, because you get to see expressions more clearly. The only one I didn't like was when Graham was being choked by Caldaur. When Caldaur talked, it reminded me of a Monty Python cartoon. Just having his chin move up and down made it look weird.

Don't go out the same way you did the last time
You'll break when you fall
Don't make the same mistakes you did all over
You've got to believe in yourself this time

I didn't think it did. The close-ups help with the expression that can't really be done in a typical fashion.
The Knight

I know Erpy's got one, he e-mailed it to one user. How about it Erpy? Will you post it up for Dragon and GabrielKnight?

Don't go out the same way you did the last time
You'll break when you fall
Don't make the same mistakes you did all over
You've got to believe in yourself this time

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub57.ezboard.com/broyalquestfor ... athoth8 at: 2/7/03 3:31:17 am

Did you ever think about making the fight scene exactly the same way Prince Alexander and Vizier did in KQ6?

Broomie
<img src="http://www.webdeveloper.com/animations/ ...

Yes, actually

This option was considered, but it was decided to go for a different look for that final sequence. Actually, that montage of shots at the end was added late in the script writing stage. I fiugured we could get away with it. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

Wookie, long time no read. Nice title. Royal scribe, ehh? Well, it looks like only 4 people have more posts then me. I liked the sword fight the way it is. It would be cool to have something like KQ6. But, its fine the way it is.
The Knight

Yeah, I do too. After all, with the limited space in the throne room for the duel, it probably wouldn't have looked as exciting or credible as an animation.

Of course, Tom Lewandowski's music is what really sells the final version for me. I think what he does actually sounds more like a movie soundtrack than a game. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

Enchanter Picture

All right, for those of you who asked, here is the close-up enchanter picture from version 1.1

If you want it bigger, let me know, and I will resize it. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

Don't go out the same way you did the last time
You'll break when you fall
Don't make the same mistakes you did all over
You've got to believe in yourself this time

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub57.ezboard.com/broyalquestfor ... athoth8 at: 2/12/03 3:00:56 am

So how exactly do you get this close-up? I know it's when you catch the enchanter in the cave. But does it happen at random? Or does it happen right away? Or when you have enough ingredients? I played right through the game all over again when I got 1.1 and I didn't get the close-up.
"Requires MCGA, CGA, VGA, PGA, or TA-RA-RA-BOOMGA!!" -Gary Owens, SQ4

After you create the emerald, wait in the cave for the enchanter to come. He will show up and try to cast a spell on you. The emerald will protect you and Graham will approach the enchanter and back him up to the wall with his sword drawn. Then the picture should change to the closeup. I've never had any trouble getting the closeup to occur. Just don't skip over the scene and you should see it.

Don't go out the same way you did the last time
You'll break when you fall
Don't make the same mistakes you did all over
You've got to believe in yourself this time

How long do you have to wait in the cave about?
"Lose yourself in the music, the moment
You own it, you better never let it go
You only get one shot; do not miss your chance to blow
This opportunity comes once in a lifetime"

I'm not sure. You have enough time to do what you have to do in the cave without dying... I found that, when I stood on the rug and just waited, the enchanter came soon enough.
