Congratulations
I don't know how I stumbled on the Tierra homepage, but I finished KQ1 yesterday and thought "well, that was fun to play in vga". So I thought I'd give KQ2 a go (always, IMHO, the weakest episode) - it totally blew me across the room, out the window and into the neighbour's tree. VGA and fantastic score aside, the new elements of the plot are marvellous and at the same time remove nothing from the original. The pumpkin had me in stitches, and I love the merchant's aussie accent (yay aussies). I'm currently dealing with the Sharkees, and having a great time doing it.

If you guys ever do half as good a job on KQ3 (my first EVER adventure game, and a consistent favourite) I'm sure I'll be crying with joy. And I'm eagerly awaiting QFG2VGA - my favourite QFG game. Long live adventuring!

xoxo
Dan

"So many condiments, so little time!" - Susie

Thanks. Glad you're enjoying our projects. And good luck with KQ2+. There's a lot more to come.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashh ...

Re: Congratulations
Yeah big thumbs up for you guys for doing all the VGA work! I never got to play Kings Quests 4 and below cuz my dad never knew about em, and now i get to! Ahhh the memories, 3 years old and playing KQ5, demanding my mum to read it all out to me..hehe. But one thing that would be really great is if you could perhaps think about doing something with QFG4 Shadows of Darkness? That was a bugggggyyyyy game and because of a huge bug that i couldnt fix when i got the (bone?) ritual in the swamp the game would shut down and I NEVER EVER FINISHED IT!!! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":("> PITY ME! so um YES it would be lovely if you could turn an already pretty decent game into one of your VGA wonders :P

QFG4...
Tierra won't be doing any "updates" as such, meaning QFG4, since it's already in VGA point-and-click won't be touched by them. I agree that it's way too buggy, but in actuality it would be a horrendous waste of effort on Tierra's part to remake and rescript an entire game just to fix some bugs. Hopefully someday, someone will be able to edit SCI scripts and can patch them up to fix the speed and timing issues in the Sierra VGA games (which is what causes all of the problems) and that would be a lot quicker than remaking the whole game.

~Wolfgang
