KQ3VGA & KQ4VGA Remake? Police Quest 1-3 Remakes?

#2 Post by Evan » Sun Jul 13, 2003 5:36 am

Wolfgang, is Tierra planning on remaking KQ3 and KQ4 in VGA? Will Rosella be busty? lol. I like KQ4 and KQ3, but is the timed clock neccesary? I found it hindered my gameplay, being rushed and all. Does the new version feature a way to shut off the clock, so I can go at my own slow pace and enjoy all the artwork? I really enjoy the artwork. These games are so pwetty now. Thank you, game developers!! Rosella as a lead in KQ4VGA should be interesting. A female lead, finally!!! I hated KQ8. I hated the game console feel. Senseless killing? An ethical decline in Daventry? All the male dominated fighting. Why? It was so different from the other games with values of nonviolence, as to be san offensive contradiction, to the values of the older games which had a respect for all life, whether animal or human. I liked that about King's Quest too. King's Quest 3 is about adulthood and leaving the shackles of homelife to go out into the world and make somebody of ourselves. It's a story of growth and adolecence. It's also about the lack of a mother during childhood. To me the story is about a child unwise of the wayds of the world who becomes an adult in the world. A high school student ready to face the world which awaits them with magic. I feel the magic is symbolic possibly of a passion for life and the uncertainties of the future.

King's Quest 4 to me is about a father's heart ache, possibly that his liitle girl is growing up and is not his little girl anymore. It's a story about a girl showing men that she can face dangers and adversity too, and be a better person for those experiences. I see King's Quest 4 as empowerment to women gamers.

Are you remaking Police Quest too? The Death Angel. I loved Police Quest 3, the best. I can't wait until Police Quest 2 gets a facelift!!! Photorealistic graphics are a must for Police Quest.

The current project of Tierra is Quest for Glory 2. That game, if you've ever played it, is massive compared to a King's Quest game like KQ1 or KQ3 since there are so many more elements to QFG than most other adventures. That being said, it will be a long while before QFG2VGA is completed. As for what project will be done after that, it's up in the air. King's Quest 3 has received the most votes in the Future Remake poll, so that is a possibility to consider, but at this time the focus is on QFG2.

~Wolfgang

Also, the game clock is considered to be part of the game in order to add some realism, just like the ability to die (which certain people also dislike) in order to give the player the idea that he's really in danger.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashs ...
