Of the three systems, I got the PS3. I actually mainly use it to watch Bluray movies since there really aren't that many games out for it yet. But, I do have Resistance: Fall of Man, and I'm not necessarilly a big fan of the Halo type game, which Resistance is, but, I have to say, that it is probably the best looking game I've ever seen. Oblivion is expansive and awesome, but it looks oldschool compared to Resistance. In Resistance, movement looks really. Blood looks real. Shooting glass looks real. Everything looks awesome. And, another thing to point out about the PS3 is that I don't think even 20% of its potential has been used yet. It really is one hell of a machine waiting to bust out.

I'm not impressed with the Wii yet. The graphics look the same as the GameCube and honestly, I haven't liked the controls on any game yet. I find them annoying. I prefer pushing buttons. But, we'll see. I've only played it a couple times. Maybe I should give it more chances.

Broomie wrote:Dude... it's just a games console. Why would you let something like that get to you? I applaud the PS3 for selling so well and beating the Wii, but the only reason that is is because the PS3 was overstocked. There was such a high demand for the Wii that Nintendo couldn't ship enough to Europe (amonst other places). If they had the same amount as the PS3 consoles, then they most likely would have beaten PS3 sales due to the high amount of pre-orders of the Wii that haven't even been met yet. But that didn't happen, but it shouldn't really bother anyone.
I stop visiting for a little while, and I miss so much... Since when has the PS3 been ahead of Nintendo? Last I noticed, the Wii was selling double the PS3, and that's even considering that unlike the Wii, the PS3 is actually available for walk-in purchases in most places... Is PS3 currently winning  the console race in the UK or something? And if so, just how much of a lead does it currently have there anyway?

Sales figures

The last major holiday season, the PS2 outsold all the current-gen consoles.  Frankly, debating the superiority of any of three in the console race is irrelevant as long as that holds true.

Does anyone else here play pokemon? I dunno if Diamond/Pearl are out yet in the UK, or when the release date is(/was) there, but I thought I'd check anyway to see if there's anyone here I can try the WiFi trading with for it...

I was considering getting it but I'm too caught up in Phoenix Wright 2 ATM, I'm on Case number 3 of 4 though so if it's happening it's soon.

I'm in the UK and have had Pearl for about a week now, although the UK release isnt until June I think.

It looks and plays just like the original GB title which is a good and a bad thing.

Great game though!

btw Sorry Broomie, I don't think I've added you to my Wii yet, I've not turned it on in over a month after getting a PS3 lol!

Any PS3 users my PSN nick is Angelus3K

Resistance online with a headset ROCKS!!! Capture the flag on Somerset level pwns!!

And between school and work, I haven't had much time either, :lol  I'm a little further in, but just barely (cought the few pokemon from the first zone, and got the Poketch). That said, it should make the pacing just about right for us to trade each iteration of the exclusive Pokemon. And just wondering, which starter did you pick?

Charchimp I think it was called. The fire type. I chose Charmander back in Red/Blue you see ;)

I chose Bulbasaur in Blue, and Charander in Leaf Green. I was divided between Piplup (water) and Turtwig (Grass) for this version, but I figured I'd rather have my ally having my secondary choice than my Rival, so I ended up picking grass, even though the final evolution of Piplup looks slightly cooler.

I've not really had much time to play them yet, so all I've done so far is get all three starters on both my games (through a series of restarted games) and get the Journal. I haven't even seen Jubilife City yet. XD

My "true" starter is Turtwig, but that's mainly due to habit - I've always picked the Grass Pokémon.

I'm playing through Diamond first, though, so it'll be a while before I get any exclusives you might need, jpnuar. I'll post my Friend Codes for both games here when I get them (I'll make sure to do that soon).

Orange League? I barely ever followed the show. In any case, each "generation" of Pokemon games introduces new ones (Red/Blue/Yellow(/LeafGreen/FireRed), Gold/Silver/Crystal, Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, and now Diamond/Pearl), including all new starter pokemon.

Seeing as how the games are what started the show off in the first place, I'm guessing that if the D/P pokemon have shown up on the series already, it's a season that started long, long after I stopped watching.

And it looks like my primary trading partner here will be Angelus then, since not only does he have the right version for it, but is progressing at roughly the same pace as I am. In the meantime, once I unlock WiFi stuff, I still wanna try the VOIP in there...

How do you use the VOIP? Some special headset thing?

Shame the DS doesnt have Bluetooth!

There's a microphone built into the DS, remember? You just talk, and it'll pick it up ;)

When you connect to a friend over WFC in the Pokémon Center basement, you can activate voice chat before choosing between battle and trading, and it's always on while you're doing one of those things.

As for Friend Codes, my Diamond code is 4424 8008 1903. I'm planning to get my Pearl code later today, even though I won't be playing it for now.

Actually, if you don't want to use the DS's main mic, (I dunno yet how well it'll pick up your voice) I beleive there is (or will soon be) a wireless headset attachment you can get...

I think I'm going to go with Pearl but I'm just not sure when. I'm usually very fast with these though so I don't doubt that I will catch up.

Say, while we're at it, anyone wanna start a group in the game? That's another thing I'd like to see the effects of...

Edit: K, got my friend code, it's   5154 9469 5509

See you all eventually then!

I've been working hard on Pokémon - I beat the Elite 4 in Diamond a week or two ago, and I just captured Palkia in Pearl.

Pearl Friend Code is 4210 0703 4330 - since I always play through one version as a boy, and the other as a girl, I called this one Mia (after Mia Fey).

I also bought Elite Beat Agents and Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan recently, but that's another story :P
