JLM, truly you are doing truly amazing work, my friend. I love that cliff scene where the log falls to bridge the gap between the two parts of land. The trees in the distance are perfect there. Nice job!

adeyke wrote:deltamatrix has a point.  Those deadly walking puzzles really don't add anything to the game.  Especially since they end up just being a matter of saving after every step.  At the very least, there should be an alternate solution that let you avoid the puzzle.
Yes, good point.  A designing of that walking puzzle would be interesting?  I wonder how.....

Perhaps you must distract the plant somehow, then walk through it........

Maybe something similar to how Sierra themselves got around the tentacles-under-the-grate puzzle in SQ1VGA underground on Kerona. Interesting thing to think about.

We could make it so Roger uses a chemical on him self and that the root monster does not like. Maybe we could add a scene with a supply bunker near by then he breaks in gets rid of the guards and gets some chemicals.  ;)

That's basically repeating a puzzle that's already in the game.  Not good.

Thats an amazing idea. Roger could take it from his locker. and he could spray each part of the tentical and it moves away but comes back a few a minute/seconds later, thats perfect.

Been looking at this thread over a period of time and you fellas are doing a bloody awsome job :D ! Good onya guys :D ! I did try to have a crack at VGAing some scenes but unfortunately didn't get anywhere so I gave up as I've got too many other unrelated things I have to get done :( .

Anyways whilst pretty much all the forest scenes etc have been done, I reckon there needs to be some focus on working on areas of the ship as only the start scene and the mini space craft scene have been done so far. Rooms needed to be done are the locker room which Roger gets whisked into and the control room before the room with the mini craft. Also a VGA redo of the beginning ship cutscene will be good as well. Hope some people will work on those.

Anyways good onya guys and keep up the good work :D !

Cheers
Troy

I think you should post what you have done. This thread is a way to practice your skills. :)

I think we should start from the start of the games backgrounds and work our way to the end.

Well, I told Susan B. if she coded up the engine, she could use backgrounds I've made. But strictly speaking, this is just a forum to do this for fun and discussion.

You can call me Bt. ;)

The thanks has to go to the artists who have done most of the work - Moonlit and JLM5 have done an incredible amount of work.

PS,

Dude, I run www.infamous-adventures.com . I'm a busy guy.

As for moonlit and JLM, I don't know if Moonlit is involved with any project, but I know JLM has his own game that he is making, and it is wonderful.

MuzlackOofmay, who has done work in this thread, also runs his own thing - SpongeFactory. We're busy folk.

For me the short answer is No.

The long answer, I am making a game without the intention to ever release it. Basically I am just practising painting and a game gives me something to paint. (Though I wrote a small part of the engine too. Copied a lot of code from my freeware mastermind game.). However writing, painting, coding takes so much time that, to be realistic, it will never be released. Still good pastime though :-)

I am not joining a team because that would take away a lot of my freedom (in time and style).
