Games you'd like to see Remade.

I've always been a HUGE fan of sierra and lucasarts games, but there are a few other notables that are getting a bit dated, which I'd like to see re-made. Specifically, I'd love to see a point and click remake of Accolade's Altered Destiny, the sheer imagination of that game made it amazing. How about you? What would you like to see?

Oh yes! I love that game. That would be quite nice in VGA...

I'm still salivating for Conquests of Camelot. King Arthur would RULE in VGA!

Altered Destiny, Camelot, the Manhunters. I've never actually really played the Manhunters, but it would still seem far more interesting in VGA.

with AGDI releasing AL & Emmo, the game that would make the most sense would be GOLD RUSH!....  Although I'm not complaining about "Trial by fire", that is my favorite adventure game with Gold Rush being a close second.  What I would look to see is a VGA text remake of Gold Rush, it would capture the original feeling of the game, I think QFG2 fits well as an Icon game, it kinda was, but Gold Rush would lose that special charm it had, it seemed to fit well as a typing game, similiar to King's Quest III....

This thread is starting to remind me of the old Future Remake thread that's now archived away. :)

I have to go with Activision's Tass Times in Tonetown!  :rollin

I'd also love to see Gold Rush, Conquests of Camelot, Betrayal at Krondor, and Laura Bow.

easy - qfg4. then we could get a copy with less bugs :P

That's not a bad idea Betelgeuse. All that's needed is a bored programmer from the AGD community. Everything is already made.

Or in other thoughts, you could just download the patches and play it as it is.

I don't think you're gonna find any AGS programmers who have nothing else to do with their lifes but spend a couple of years reprogramming a game such as QFG4 from scratch. I know the general consensus in a large part of the adventure gaming community is that remaking a game is just a matter of slapping backgrounds and animations (existing or newly made) into a pre-existing engine and BAM, instant remake. All I'll say is that the founding fathers of that general consensus have no idea what they're talking about.

I would imagine using the QfG2Remake code would help a lot but it would still need quite a bit of rewriting, especially for the different fighting style.

Betrayal at Krondor IS in VGA. And it's an RPG. And it's in 3D. Are you saying you want to turn it into a point-and-click VGA adventure game? That would pretty much ruin the game, in my opinion.

I would love to see Colonel's Bequest VGA and Return of the Incredible TOON Machine.

Not nearly as much as you'd think. A stat system is something that's fairly quick to set up. You would hardly need code...just the formulas triggered when you do something that ups stats. What really takes time is getting all the scenes into the game, setting up all the mechanics of each scene and programming the effects of magic in each scene. The combat system would take time to set up, but probably not as much as you'd think at first. (debugging the thing, on the other hand, WILL take forever again)

On the whole, having QFG2VGA's code would shave like a month off. Not more.

Not to mention the fact that, if you're trying to duplicate the QFG4 combat system, the QFG2VGA combat system is completely useless seeing as how it's completely different.

Not COMPLETELY different anymore. QFG2VGA's battle system is a combination between the original QFG2 system and QFG4's. But it's still different enough to justify writing a battle system from scratch.

Really?  How so?  I didn't notice any similarities to QfG4 in the trailer.

The battle system is still in QFG2EGA's perspective, but certain aspects from QFG4 were put in, such as the ability for both combattants to move out of melee range, a fairly large variety of attacks (for both the hero and opponents), the ability to duck/jump certain attacks and a whole lot more.

It's posts like that that make people impatient and flamey... couldn't you just pretend the game is gonna be lousy until like a month before it comes out?
