I use the same setup at work, only with flat panel LCD's. Very cool!

LCD's would be handy. The colours at least would be the same and you can rotate them landscape or portrait shape. A tad more difficult to pull off with CRTs
.
Can anyone recommend some good free dual monitor programs?

Yeah, Excel is amazing. Programming is also really nice. Web browsing and practically any normal activity is nice. Remote Desktop is SO much easier with two screens. Openoffice is free I s'pose. I haven't been able to try FL-Studio on dual monitors though. I only have them at work, and they are uber nice. Especially my supervisor's, who has dual 20 inch wide screens I believe. Another in our department has like 6 monitors mounted in an array. He's a Database manager, so I'd imagine it would be good for that as well.
Have a good life,
