Adventure Game Ideas That'll Probably Never Happen
Post one. I'll start:
Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I really don't know how this would work. But it would be plain awesome. Maybe a multi-player interface like Maniac Mansion/DOTT where you can play each knight like "The Tale of Sir Robin."

Actually, there already is a Monty Python and the Holy Grail adventure game. I've never played it, but I probably will one of these days.
EDIT: As for adventure games that will never get made, I came up with an idea for one that I mentioned in Adventure: The Inside Job: A Zen adventure game. In order to win it, one must not pick up anything that isn't nailed down, not solve puzzles, not talk to other characters and not explore his or her surroundings.

Re: Whacky Adventure Game Ideas That'll Probably Never Happen
The other day I was waiting for a burger at an A&W and while waiting for the order to come up the cashier went into the back to see what was taking the guy so long. No one was in line with me and I quickly looked around and went "What am I supposed to pick up before she comes back!?" then I realized it wasn't an adventure game.

The Silver Lining.
OOOOOH! SNAP!
Just kidding, I hope it does come out.

Mount Everest and the pinky guitar surfers!
Even with such a self-descriptive title, I couldn't imagine how could that work!

How bout this one Alvin and the Chipmunks Dave Gets Trigger Happy. You play as Dave and search for the mythical gun that slows down time. But it it is in two pieces the search the land for both pieces and then... Where to find the ammo? then Dave hears about a magic treasure chest that is always filled with bullets and never runs out he finds it. Shoots Alvin Simon and Theodore and then as a reward King Graham crowns him the new king of Daventry. They can call the sequel Evil Dead Rise of the Zombie Chipmunks Where Dave teams up with Ash to fight the Zombies of Alvin Simon and Theodore.

One Year Secret Final Countdown: Sins of Our Age of World Civil Crisis on Infinite House of Zero Complex Clone Disassembled Zombies at Dark War Unleashed.
It's a point and click adventure where you try to make sense of epic cross title story arcs in comic books. It's very difficult to win since you reach a dead end every time you don't pick up an obscure tie in title.

I can top it. A QFG game released without glitches in it's first inception. Or any game really. I'm always finding bugs on my xbox games.Brainiac wrote:And Bt wins for most impossible idea.Blackthorne519 wrote:I want a Star Wars adventure game in the style of old LucasArts games (ala Monkey Island).

Re: Adventure Game Ideas That'll Probably Never Happen
Why is it QFG fans have such an issue with dialogue portraits?
Re: Adventure Game Ideas That'll Probably Never Happen
I don't think it's QFG-fans in specific. I think it's more nit-picky nature of mankind. A bit like: "I like aspect X and Y of this game, but don't like aspect Z, therefore I'd like to be able to turn off aspect Z and have a perfect experience, rather than having to go through the tiring process of focussing on the good aspects enough to ignore the aspects I didn't like."
Okay, I'm being very sarcastic here, but you get the point.

Re: Adventure Game Ideas That'll Probably Never Happen
I thought it was a reference to that "Let's play Quest for Glory" video in which the commenter said he didn't like the character portraits, and later he got annoyed because one character didn't have a portrait.

Dude, when I was a kid I totally wrote a letter to George Lucas asking for EXACTLY that. Dead serious.Blackthorne519 wrote:I want a Star Wars adventure game in the style of old LucasArts games (ala Monkey Island).
