Wow, that's quite out of the blue. Their art does look very good. Ambitious project, but cool if they can pull it off.

Now the only thing I'm left wondering is if "Mister L" from Germany is or isn't the long-lost Lucasfan.

Wait, if that's the case, doesn't this belong on the small brain, big zero TVTropes page?

I've seen it weeks before, but the only other site with info about the game is a german forum where they were choosing a name for the remake.

But... didn't lucasarts shut off the Maniac Mansion VGA game? What will prevent this one from going the same way?

According to what I've heard, they didn't. I believe LA knew about MM-deluxe, but did not have the immediate intention of shutting it down. The site's closure was self-inflicted as far as I knew with no reason being given other than "circumstances".

This remake should be off the hook. I wonder what Dave will look like in this game. I also hope they'll bring back the old NES themes for the characters, only in remixed editions.
