Trying to make the storm spell, but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I've put the sea water in the bowl, lit the brazier, heated the bowl, put the mud in the bowl... then can't seem to be able to add the pinch of toad spittle. I have the toad spittle and I've tried clicking the hand on it, or using it on the bowl. Tried it on the mortar and pestle just in case. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

It's not "Toad Spittle" you need in this case. Read the spell book again. You need "Toadstool Powder."

It's found near water, though you can't carry it in your hands.
