Yay <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

Just one thing though - it still says on the download page

"Unzip it into your KQ2VGA directory (default directory is: C<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ohwell.gif ALT=":\"> Program Files\Tierra\KQ2VGA), overwrite the file when prompted, and double-click the ACWIN.EXE file to run the game (NOT KQ2VGA.EXE as normal). Installing the patch will reset your options chosen in Setup, so you may need to run Setup again first if you need Letterbox resolution for example to run the game"

when in fact there is no longer an ACWIN.EXE file to run <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

Will there be a version 2.0?

Why the changes?

So what was so bad about the cat hair and Sharkee's lair? The wall looked different on the screens, so I ended up trying various combinations until I got it, restoring after each scene. And sure, I guess you're stuck if you don't get the cat hair--but it's not that hard of a puzzle, and rather entertaining.

We decided to strip the game of dead end situations completely. It seems some people still got stuck there and it's never fun having to start over completely.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashs ...

Sharkees

They didn't by chance do something about the spot where the two sharkees are guarding the gate, and if you save there, chances are you won't have time to leave the screen because the game'll stop while the sharkees come over to get you, and you can't get away? That part messed up my game once...

That, like many others, is a timed sequence. Saving late in a timed sequence is something that counts as a player screw-up. And there's no way for us to fix that other than remove the time limit in that part. (and we really wouldn't want to do that)

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashs ...

I loved the new Enchanter cave sequence with the close up.
"When you find yourself in the company of a halfling and an Ill-Tempered Dragon, remember you do not have to outrun the Dragon...you just have to outrun the halfling."

Version question

How can you check the version # you have?

I'm pretty sure I have version 1.1 but I've never seen any close up of the enchanter.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":(">

<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /alien.gif ALT="0]">

I think you can get the version number if you hit the question mark button on the control panel.

I have the original version, and now I see that there are so many bugs in it, and I encountered none of them. Strange, is it not?

Heh.

And I was sure the game was mostly bug-free after the beta test <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p"> . Making something completely free of any bugs is very hard indeed.

I never ran into a bug either, Vildern. I almost never encounter a bug unless I read/am told about one, and then I almost always encounter it next time I play.
The Knight
