I get out of the cave after grabbing the trident, and it says you hear a voice etc, so im like ok i can use the trident on them, but when they come out i cant use it on them cause he kills me in like 2seconds... what am i missing <br> <p></p><i></i>

Take a look at the skulls, one has a blue gem in its eye, while one is empty. Use an item that was picked up from a tree. If you don't have it, look around for a large tree with a knotted hole in it.
