ya take all the fun out of kqII by eliminating the type feature I always liked the fact that you could tell graham through typing what to do it some how let you think more this point and click thing... just doesn't cut it.... oh and if you were to remake III and IV would you illiminate the type feature there too... it makes it easier to play for small children I myself had a hard time of kqIV when I was 8 but it incourged good spelling skills and good reading comprehension habits.
Now its too self explanatory I found when kqV came out I didn't like the new format nearly as well......
though I do enjoy all the extras ya slipped into the game... more like williams story.. great stuff... love the intrigue added in.... over all I rate it 4 1/2 out of 5 stars ::kudos::

About spelling skills, I don't want to get personal, but your post had so many spelling and grammar errors, the point about spelling skills came across as slightly ironic.

The parser vs. p&c is years old and I've heard both sides of the argument. Point & click is generally seen as more userfriendly. The final puzzle in Larry 2 was a fine example of a case where everyone knew what had to be done, but nobody could figure out the right words to do so. A p&c system would have saved much frustration there. Also, lots of people's native language isn't english and there's no need for an 8 years old whose native language isn't english to learn english typing skills. It's a known fact that writing in a foreign language is tougher than reading in it, so older foreign players will have trouble with parser too.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashs ...

thanks for the comment... I didn't take it into consideration players of non native languages... as for spelling and grammer mistakes I've not improved since my days of asking Rosella and or graham to "look under rock" or maybe its the fact that here its hrmm 2 am and my brain has shut down.. well in the case of my bad... I revoke the 4 1/2 stars and turn around and give it the full 5 think it's great

Hmm I never did like typing in the command that told graham what to do because it was a big pain when u type something in wrong. Well according the sq7 fan project theres both options the old typing the commands to tell the character what to do and the point and click. I think that the point and click will make kq3 ezier while doing those annoying spells.

well

I remember playing King's Quest on my grandmother's old IBM thingamawhatsit when I was 4 years old. I learned to type and spell playing the old KQ, and SQ games. However, I love the point and click interface, because typing can get tedious, especially before the ability to have your typing cause the game to pause was implemented. I don't think taking out the typing will make anyone more or less stupid than they were before though.

And as a side note, if I ever have kids (flee for your lives) I will be giving them the KQ1VGA and KQ2VGA. Muahaha.

how about a hybrid?

I know it would be an implementing hell, but I wonder just how a game would look sporting TWO interfaces simultaneously. Both clicking AND pointing... that might be interesting <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">
