Kq2 Bug

#1 Post by Captain » Sun Mar 09, 2003 4:33 am

Hey when playing kq2 v1.1 with the largest resoultion (960x600), with the music pak, the game freezes when I talk to the merchant after placing the coins in the water. This has happened every single time I've tried

1. Why are you using 960x600?

2. Have you read the sticky thread "KQ2 v1.1 Known Issue"?

I'm using 960x600, because my comp can only display in 1024x768, the rest is just black, so on 960x600 I can at least see what I'm doing, even though a fair portion of my screen is just black, anything smaller and I woulnd't be able to see what i'm doing. Is gold coins/merchant bug going to be patched anytime soon?

960x600 is an unsupported resolution and has not been tested. If you're getting a black screen at lower resolutions, try checking the "Force alternate letterbox resolution" in the setup program and then running the game again. Let us know if that works.

I think what he is saying is that his monitor will not change resolutions. I assume he is using a laptop or some other flat screen monitor. The resolution is always at 1024x768, so if he runs the game at 320x200, the picture is very small and the rest of the screen is just black.

"May the way of the hero
lead to the Triforce."

Hmm, I also played the game on a laptop that supports 1024x768, but I could play it at 320x200.

Perhaps you should check if the game runs in a window or in full-screen mode? (I played version 1.0 in a window for a while, because it crashed in full-screen. It is a bit small to notice details, though)

No anathoth8 is right, my monitor only supports 1024x768, any smaller resoultion and that gets displayed but the unused pixels are all black.

Hmm...maybe it's your video card drivers? Do any other games that run on the AGS engine work?
