Why have some of the basic phpbb features been disabled? (I'm thinking about viewonline.php, among otehrs...)

Well there is a viewonline users mod. It's displayed in each forum. I think the reason why it is only showed in each forum though and not a main one of the index page is because on the old forums I made the suggestion of activating the Who's Online feature, I had no idea why people made a big deal out of it why they didn't want to be seen online, so Erpy made a poll. Well the majority wanted the feature but still Erpy didn't activate it. So that's why there is no main online featue on the front page. I feel just leave it this way.

This feature is part of the standard phpbb installation, which means the the admins actually deactivated it. And even if it did work, you can still check an option in your profile to appear as a hidden user, which means that only the admins can see you as online.

Well... it seems to be active in each forum (although it doesn't seem to work very well... but then phpBB's never worked very well.) They simply deleted it from the main index template.
Perhaps they don't want you to bother the hard-working AGDI members.

They deleted the index page's whole footer actually... Number of registered members, of total posts, etc...

When I was creating the template, I was trying to base it off the existing EZ-Boards. The AGD's weren't sure if they really wanted to switch. I was trying to show them that it could be pretty seemless.
So to answer your question, it was removed because it wasn't in the EZ-Board version. This board is based off that one.

Would it be a lot of trouble to get it back? A phpbb board without the footer makes me feel like I'm lost in a maze ^^

At this point, I don't see it being added to the forums. There haven't been a lot of requests for it. Besides, you stated that all phpBB forums have it. It makes us unique to not have it.Barren wrote:Would it be a lot of trouble to get it back?
