Looking for a character making program

Hi all. I'm thinking of having a crack at making an adventure game. I've had a crack at the AGS tutorial and successfully got the Roger Wilco character to pick up an object, walk behind scenes, talk to another Roger Wilco character so I'm getting the hang of it.

Making scenes would be the easy part but making characters to proportion for each movement would be bloody hard and I cannot see myself spending 6 hours using Corel Photopaint making one character. So if there's a character making program around which can make things a little easier please let me know.

A Character making program I would like to use is one which can be sort of 3D modelling which have premade bodies which you can resize then coat the bodies with clothes and put face and hair on the head and all those other find details, this would be really helpful. Plus where the 3D comes into play is to auto create the character's movement animation cells. and then outputting the character set to a file and import it to AGS.

Lastly, I would also like to know how to make the game so the character size can be larger at the bottom of the scene and smaller at the top of the scene? Also how do we make our characters in higher resolution too seeing that the premade Roger Wilco character looks pretty hokey?

Cheers
Troy

Draw a walkable area. Click on the tick next to "Use Continuous Scaling". Put in some percentages. Play with it until it looks okay.

As to the character creation, there's no easy answer. Even using a program like poser takes a lot of effort, time and .... ummm ..... time. Drawing animation cycles sucks dogs balls.

MsPaint, Frame by frame.

Get used to disapointment!  Heheh!  There's really no easy way.

Try this, though.  Paint over some old Sierra or LucasArts sprites.

Try JuncModule or Skimbleshanks resource pages.  Use google to look them up.
