The plot remains exactly the same, all of the characters are the same, the locations are the same, but you may notice a several fun extras on the side if you take the time to explore a bit.
What kind of interface is used in the Quest for Glory II remake?
The game makes use of Point & Click icons for the Walk, Look, Interact, Inventory, Special Actions and Spells features. for communication with other characters, small dialog pictures are used (Quest for Glory Ill-style) with Point-6-Click dialog trees (Quest for Glory IV-style) for communication. There is also a text parser option for communication which allows the player to type conversation topics manually. Finally, a combination mode allows the use of both Point & Click and the text parser simultaneously.
How has the battle system changed for the Quest for Glory II remake?
Combat resembles the EGA version of Quest for Glory II, but all similarities stop there. The revamped combat system is one of the most impressive aspects about the remake with many enhancements, new moves, new features, clever Al, and some auto-battle assistance in place to assist people lacking sharp reflexes.
Are stats used like in the original Quest for Glory games?
Yes, stats are included, and they work in the same fashion as they do in the rest of the Quest for Glory series.
Have you included the impossible-to-navigate alley system?
How has it been implemented?
The alleyways are vastly different from the original dark tunnels. They still resemble the EGA versions but are now easier to navigate and do not scroll. Players may choose to play with the original alleyway layout (all streets exactly the same as they were in the EGA game) or with a new simplified layout (important locations link directly to one another with straight roads, eliminating the possibility of getting lost). Extra details have been included in different areas of the alleys to make them more unique looking. It's now also easier to maintain your orientation by looking at the skyline.
Is there an Import/Export option in the remake?
Yes, the Quest for Glory II remake features both character, importing and exporting options, which permits you to import a character from "Quest for Glory I: So You Want To Be a Hero", and also to save you, hero at the end of the game for use in "Quest for Glory III: Wages of War".
