QFG Character Importers

#1 Post by Sam2 » Mon Mar 06, 2006 10:36 am

Due to a problem explained in this thread ( http://www.agdiforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=178571 ), I am forced to resort to cheating (alas!) and creating an import file, an artificial character, for use in Shadows of Darkness, but starting with the maximum obtainable skills for that game (meaning the 400 points ceiling, not the 'perfect character' 300 starting points level), so that by not wasting time on practice to build up the character, I may finish the game quickly before the error sets in.  After much trouble, I think I've earned the right to play one game without the burden of practising night and day to produce a well-built character.

I know of the famous 'Character Importer 95' application, which creates import files of perfect starting characters for each of the games of the series.  However, I require an application (of course one that produces solid, compatible, 'bug-free' import files) that allows me to tweak the skill levels as I see fit.  One of my original imported characters is an almost-perfect hybrid paladin.  C.I.95 only produces pure characters with no skills from other classes, and does not allow for customisation.  Its characters' skill levels are at the best starting points (meaning a character it creates for importing to Shadows of Darkness will have 300, not 400 points for skills).  I need something that could let me reproduce my hybrid paladin, but already at the maximum obtainable skill levels, ready for export to Dragon Fire from the start of Game 4.  Are there any such applications available from the Web?

Thanks.[/b][/i]

I best scratch out that request.  It seems that a similiar trick, the re-import glitch of Q.F.G.IV, will not accept skills over 300 and will keep them at that level, meaning that there exists no way or utility that could help in letting a character come through into the game with a value exceeding 300.

Still, for the sake of character customisation at least, it wouldn't be bad if someone could suggest a link or two to the sort of utility I described.

*sigh* Was it really needed to create a whole new topic when there are threads already discussing it? (Not too mention double posting in it).
