Rugby World Cup 2007
Rugby World Cup 2007 to start in 2 days in France.
Ok. I know most members/visitors here don't really follow rugby, but if you can pick a team you'd support (if only to see who guessed right in the end) to be the champs, who would it be?
The teams that qualified for the RWC:
Argentina
Australia
Canada
England
Fiji
France
Georgia
Ireland
Italy
Japan
Namibia
New Zealand
Portugal
Romania
Samoa
Scotland
South Africa
Tonga
USA
Wales

England vs USA? I have to watch that one!
I bet talk of this match will fuel many heated debates and arguments about which sport is better, American Football or Rugby? It's obviously the latter though. :p

Football
Last weekend, Michigan lost to a Division I-AA team, the first time that's ever happened to any I-A team in history.
I couldn't care less about your other sports right now. College Football Forever!

Haha! That's a good one Klytos. Considering League is somewhere between Union and touch-rugby.... closer to touch-rugby. (You do know where league comes from, right??)Klytos wrote:Union is a pussy version of League of course, but that's okay. Better than American Football.
And... I wouldn't bet on England reaching the semis. Australia have an outside chance of reaching the semis. Final will be between South Africa and NZ this year. France will fall out in the semis.
If past games are any indications, the one between Samoa and SA should be good (on Sunday). Both teams like to tackle hard and furious... so we may see some broken bones after that one. hehe.
I am not in to sports much but that discription is misleading.Gronagor wrote:Obviously rugby! A game played by real men... not kids in space-suits.
Football pads allow these "kids" to go all out. They can run full speed and hit head first and get up and walk away. I think both sports players are men one is just more painful and the other is more careless and extream.
Its kinda like dirt and street bicycle racing. In dirt bike racing body armor is required to allow stunts and manuvers that might kill the rider. In street racing these stunts are not needed so the padding is not needed.
Just different sports. Don't give me this shit about men and boys.

It was a joke BrianR. It's a very old argument... which usually leads to nothing more than a few words. Rugby Union vs American Football vs Rugby League vs AussieRules vs... what the heck... soccer/football.BrianR wrote:Just different sports. Don't give me this shit about men and boys.
USA made themselves count against England (current World Champions).
So did Argentina. Americas improving every year. Canada too can cause a few upsets.
Argentina made themselves the heroes of the entire world (other than France) when they beat the hosts. hehe!
