Applause to the Voice Actors

I just finished the game with the voice-pack installed as well.

As one of the voice actors, I wanted to applaud the great performance of the other VA´s in the game <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D"> Good job on the directing! Wow, I'm honored!! I feel like such a nerd. This could quite possibly be one of the most exciting moments in my life. I hope that my own release of one of my more recent games will be equally fulfilling to others.

----------
Sponge Factory

Voices

#4 Post by timosity » Thu Apr 03, 2003 2:31 pm

It takes a while to get used to the voices, at first I didn't think Graham's voice fit, but you get used to it after a while, I just never thought of him with an American accent.

I'm about half way through so I haven't heard them all yet, but I think hagatha's voice is quite good, and the underwater voices were good.

I'm pleased that there is a good use of different accents, makes it more friendly to people around the world.

I didn't think adding voices was necessary to this paerticular game, but it doesn't take anything away from it.

Good work

The voice actor who played Graham also voiced him in Sierra's KQ5 and KQ6, so we thought he was the best one to do Graham again.

And yep, the voices will take some getting used to. That's always the case with voice-overs coming out after the actual game. (QFG4 for example)

<img src="http://members.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nas ...

finished it again

#6 Post by timosity » Thu Apr 03, 2003 6:53 pm

I finished it again, I got used to the voices, I Haven't played the voice versions of 5 or 6 so I didn't recognise it.

I know Kings Quest is American seeing as it is made by Sierra, but I always imagine Kings etc having a posh English accent, That's just the stereotype.

But the acting was done quite well, Hagatha was my favourite.

Congratulations Tierra, as soon as KQ2 Voice Pack finished downloading I will download KQ2VGA V2.0.

TIERRA! I'd also like to applause the voice actors. I would have much rather it been released with the game, just because it takes some getting used to. I actually started to like connor. But with this voice... shudder. Not poorly acted, just different than I imagined.

----------
Sponge Factory

The only criticism I have about the voice acting (sorry to anyone who may be involved in this) is that IMHO the Sharkee king could have sounded a bit more menacing. Without the voice, I always visioned him shouting the whole time and sounding a lot more mad, but that's just my interpretation. Good job on a surprise release, it was unexpected but makes the game a whole lot better.
"Lose yourself in the music, the moment
You own it, you better never let it go
You only get one shot; do not miss your chance to blow
This opportunity comes once in a lifetime"

Why doesn't Hagatha's voice change when she's transformed into the beautiful girl?

The youth potion only works skin deep, as the death message says if you don't take action against her soon enough.
"Lose yourself in the music, the moment
You own it, you better never let it go
You only get one shot; do not miss your chance to blow
This opportunity comes once in a lifetime"

How did everyone like the "preview" to the ending song? I think it would have been more of a surprise if left out <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

----------
Sponge Factory

Yeah, but would you really want Valanice to just say or whisper the words in that scene? That might clash with the music.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashh ...

Actually, I think whispering would have worked.....But I like the singing better anyway so I don't care too much! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

"Requires MCGA, CGA, VGA, PGA, or TA-RA-RA-BOOMGA!!" -Gary Owens, SQ4

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub57.ezboard.com/broyalquestfor ... nspired at: 4/4/03 4:48:49 am

I did a few of the voices for the game, and I am loving this voice pack. The Devs did a fantastic job of assembling voices from (literally) around the world, despite some of the problems involved. I'm just glad everyone is enjoying it!

Thanks again #1 <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

Haha, seeing that the actual names are in the game credits, seeing you labelling yourself anonymous is a bit ironic.

<img src="http://members.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nas ...

Anonymous Voice Actor #1! No...you must keep up with the whole anonymous persona--just change your name to Anonymous Game Actor (fill in any other number) and don't tell them which voices you did, and you can regain your anonyminity...

Thanks for your fantastic contributions...and yep, you can put them on your resume<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)"> Can't wait to hear you on TV and the radio someday in the near future, I'm sure...

I'll write you an email soon...gotta get back to work for the moment though<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

Anonymous game Developer #1
PS. He already said what voices he had done in my thread, and his name is shown in the credits. I found the libarian's voice to be a little...young for an old person...nevertheless, the voice pack is a great addition! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">
