KQ3 Redux: Thoughts and Critique (warning: long!)
First, I have to express my gratitude to you for remaking this game. KQ3 is one of the best adventure games ever made, and witnessing a facelift of this calibur is heartwarming for someone whose childhood was brightened by the original. That you’ve poured so much of yourselves into a product from ...

Re: Future Remake: Part Deux
Of course, I forgot. Any three games I'd like to see remade. Well, in that case, I'll go with King's Quest 8, King's Quest 4, and The Colonel's Bequest.

Re: Future Remake: Part Deux
I'm going to go with KQ8, only because I think you would have more fun remaking that game than any other on the list. You would really have to stretch your creative muscles to pull that one off. It would require a dramatically reworked story, all new puzzles... I'd be really interested to see what y...

Solving the Lever Puzzle: Work in Progress
Currently five minutes into the game, as I have been for the past two hours. Thought I'd document my thought processes and experiences in trying to solve the first of the new batch of puzzles, just for fun. Naturally, this thread will contain SPOILERS when I actually manage to solve it. Also, natura...

Re: The Trouble with Throwing Daggers
Instead of looking at it solely from the backstab angle, consider it from the point of view of the Fighter without stealth and the Thief who's running away from a charging foe. In these instances, it's impossible to peg an enemy with a dagger unless you go into the menu, turn the speed allllllllllll...

The Trouble with Throwing Daggers
First and foremost, I wanted to offer my appreciation to AGDI for their hard work and dedication, and to congratulate them for seeing this project to its end. The entire video game industry could take a lesson from the standard of quality enshrined in your work. I salute you! http://www.lowculture.c...

Re: How much would you pay for a Sierra Adventure Game Nowadays?
All pirates and freeloaders, regardless of their motivation, are the very types of people who collectively sap away at motivation until there's none left. I've pirated extensively from a certain monopolistic game publisher, and I don't think many people would consider me a freeloader for doing so. ...

I think the good people at AGDI have done more than enough for us already. This project has already taken years of their time and creative energies. There's no reason they should be saddled with the additional burden of a voice pack, nor should we hold them to such a standard. Rather, we should t...

Geocities?

Ha. Ha. Hahahahahahahahahaha.

I recommend Tripod. Twenty megs, good bandwith, and one banner (which can be removed, albeit illegally) to contend with. A lot better than being flooded with six or seven pop-ups per page as I just was. :P

King's Quest I...
The teacup and the bottle of false poison both just appear on the Isle of Wonder. I see where you're going here, and you're right -- those items did appear rather conveniently at Alexander's fingertips exactly when he needed them. I'll admit, it's not a case of very good writing. It must be remembe...

King's Quest I VGA...
I think I'm being misread here. I don't mean that every single puzzle should be re-written, re-drafted, and re-programmed. A lot of the puzzles are fine as they are. Well? Fine. Bucket? Fine. Dragon? Fine. Goat-Troll? Fine. Gnome? Eh, I'd add a little more to the note in the gingerbread house to mak...

King's Quest I...
Completely rescripting the whole project would get old quickly. But the game is already scripted. King's Quest I VGA is already done. All I'm saying is, give it some substance. Have puzzles that make some sense. Don't have a magic bowl that can fill itself with stew upon the utterance of a single w...

Aw, you're all a bunch of fuddy-duddies.
Sure, it's fine the way it is. But that's all it is. Fine. Give me one reason why the first game in the series shouldn't be as spectacular and thick in plot as the second.

King's Quest I
I don't think it'd be necessary; I mean, the basic idea behind KQ1 is to start the series, set it up. And it did! You can't *really* say it didn't contribute to the series - without it, there is no series! It gets Graham into the kingship, sets up the land of Daventry, it starts everything. I don't...

Order...
I'd rather see a plot rewrite of King's Quest I before Laura Bow or King's Quest IV. The game, as it is, is probably the weakest of all King's Quest games. It doesn't contribute at all to any of the three overall plotlines of the King's Quest series, and thus, stands out as a mere thirty minute trea...

Re: What do you mean...
Then again, LucasArts also prosecutes (or threatens to prosecute) till the bitter end whenever anybody attempts a fangame based upon one of their adventure games. How many botched unofficial Monkey Island sequels/prequels are they up to now?

I thought the nightingale's death was one of the best parts of King's Quest II VGA. I've never laughed so hard while playing an adventure game as I did when seeing that for the first time in beta testing.
