I would imagine there would be at least one other poll on this question, but during my tenure here I haven't seen one so here I go. Oh, and I think this is my first ever poll

.
Also please post to say what you chose, especially for those who pick other.
(Don't be offended if your fav isn't listed. I haven't played all games remember

Just to get the ball rolling - I think the best adventure games I've ever played were Monkey Island 2 and 3, and Quest for Glory 4. QFG 4 just shades it since the atmosphere was perfect, though MI2 would probably walk away with it if a speech version had been made. <p></p><i></i>

My personal favorite is Grim Fandango, because of the depth of the story, the great voice acting and the music. I even liked the non-traditional for adventure games engine, it might have been imperfect but it had this new feeling to it, which I liked. <p></p><i></i>

Grim Fandango, Monkey Island 2 or 3 or King's Quest 6. I guess you could say KQ2VGA aswell.<br><br>I'd say Grim Fandango has to be won of the greatest of all adventure games, it's just so damn cool. What's annoying is that there planning a sequal... Luc-arse-Arts are planning a sequal. They are so stupid. <p>----------<br><!--EZCODE BOLD START--><strong>Door of Destiny:</strong><!--EZCODE BOLD END--> The new name for Tierra Game Central<br><!--EZCODE ITALIC START--><em>Coming soon...</em><!--EZCODE ITALIC END--><br><br><!--EZCODE IMAGE START--><img src="

Ok, so far Grim Fandango is getting the nod. I've never played it but I suppose I could download it...it'll just take me days. <p></p><i></i>

My vote would go to the original EGA Hero's Quest. Mostly it's a nostalgic thing, being the first Sierra game I ever played. Actually it was the first PC game I ever played come to think of it. Even playing the remake, which is a masterpiece, I still love the original. <p><!--EZCODE CENTER START--><div style="text-align:center"><!--EZCODE ITALIC START--><em>He is more than even he knows himself to be. QFG1 is one of the few remade games that I prefer playing the original to the remake. The only think that's worse about the ega version is that you can't raise your throwing/climbing stats just by leaving a weight on the enter key <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :lol --><img src=

I think the title said it all, you don't need to actually leave the room for easy stat building, just type in the debug code. <p></p><i></i>

The best adventure game I've ever played is a little-known game by Jordan Mechner (of Prince of Persia fame) called The Last Express. The critics loved it but it was a commercial failure.

Amen. Last Express is the best and the only.

So there is someone else besides me who has played it. It's bloody hard to find these days.

QG2/QG4/KQ6/GK1/GKIII all are tied with KQ4, PQ4 & SQ5 getting honorable mentions

QfG2 had them all beaten by far. It got lots of rewards also. Everything about it was perfect... including the errors (which were 10 times less than that of QfG4)!!
Sorry... but none of those can even compare to QfG2!

There are a lot of excellent games in the poll, but my absolute favorite is Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers (even though I haven't finished it yet...). Humor, suspense, and logical puzzles.

I'd say it's a toss up between the Secret of Monkey Island and Gabriel Knight 1.
The Discworld and Broken Sword series deserve worthy mentions too.

I voted for Grim Fandango out of the list,
But I really feel that
'The Secret of Monkey Island' and 'LOOM' by Lucas Arts
are by far the best adventure games I've ever played.
Second I'd pick a game that's a little more out there:
"The Neverhood" by DreamWorks

Nope, Quest For Glory IV is the one for me. The atmosphere, the music, the creatures, the story, even the title was good.
