I forgot to mention how much I enjoyed the game. The design is great and logical and there's lots of unexpected plot twists. The painted scenarios are gorgeous. Congratulations for the makers!
Oh, while replaying it to see the Easter Eggs I've missed, I noticed...
[spoiler]I noticed you get the point by choosing for King Graham not to knight Connor? So the poor guy saves the realm (including King Graham who was turned to stone and wouldn't have any other chance to come back to life) and fights some real evil and is treated like someone with just demonstrated some good qualities?! Connor also sounds irritatingly pompous and snobbish, not like a peasant at all. I think the makers have a (unfair) grudge against KQ8 or it's just my impression?

Not at all, or we wouldn't have included him in the first place.
The real easter egg involves NOT turning down Connor, but NOT knighting him either.

Hey, you know how people have been saying KQ8 is not a real KQ, what about a remake in this VGA style?

If I recall correctly (and there's a good chance that I don't), you get the 1 point for both options: choosing to Knight Conner or choosing NOT to knight him.
The only option that doesn't yield a point involves the afore-mentioned easter egg.

That would never work. Besides, everyone hates Connor.

The thing about MoE is that if you take away the senseless combat and combat-related items, the awful clunky interface, the hideous low-poly, low-resolution, low-detail 3D graphics, the painful jumping puzzles, and the melodramatic, over-accented dialogue, there'll be nothing left.
And if you leave any of those in, the game will still be awful.

My personal opinion of MoE is similar to my opinion of the game Chrono Cross. The game itself is not that bad (for the different genre style), but it cannot survived being compared with its predecessors.

King's Quest: The Mask of the Alternativity
Exactly like the Police Quest: SWAT series.....
even though they bear the title they aren't true successors to the previous Police Quest games

Hi new to the forums... I think that MoE was a bit lacking in the humour department and I was getting a little tired of Connor's ceaseless "Fear not good sir/lady i shal go forth and fearlessly..." tirades... but at the same time I think it's important to be willing to evolve. After years of the point and clicks it was interesting to try sometihng different.

A hack'n slash action game? That just doesn't cut the mustard.

You know what would have been a somewhat redeeming feature for MoE? A tag-team game like KQ7. Playing some chapters as the peasant/hero Connor (who could be allowed some fighting once in a while) searching for the lost mask, and other chapters as old King Graham (facing other threats in Daventry, and solving them the good ol' fashionned way: puzzles and adventuring. And the blue hat, of course.)
Edit: If you guys decide to ever remake KQ8 that way, I think I'll lend my developper talents to your team

I just completed KQ2.
I kinda liked how Hagatha got catted just like her brother, Manannan, would 18 years later!(Though Hagatha was not completely cat like Manannan).
If you do remake KQ8, have Connor look the same as before. He looked too old in his KQ2 talking pict and he looked too boyish when Graham was kinghting him.
