AGDI Chat Session - Halloweener - 29th October
Meh, Halloween is coming up so I propose we have a special chat. It's the best I could come up with, sorry. Okay how about celebrating the little one's birthday? I dunno.
Sunday, 29th October 2005.
USA = 2-5pm
Europe, UK = 9-12pm
Australia = Monday, around 9am
Not sure about other places.

Re: The Un-Official AGDI Chat Session - Saturday
Heh, if I were completely computer-illiterate, I wouldn't know what you're talking about, 'specially regarding the mouse part. Do I put the mouse on the computer screen itself? Left or right click? :P (Not making this up, some people really did do that.)Broomie wrote:For newbies or really dumb people, the instructions are not too difficult, gently move your mouse towards the blue thing with the blue writing, and the last one that says.... "AGDI Chatroom"
Also, not everyone uses the default forum skin, so those people might not know where the blue thing is.
For those who still haven't got a clue where the "AGDI Chatroom" link is, it's at the top right of the screen, below the Heading, and right next to "AGDI Calendar".
If you still can't locate the link, go to http://www.agdiforums.com/chat/index.html

Cool, I'll try to be there, not sure about my plans for tomorrow evening however.
It's a good idea to set up chat times because every time I've gone into the chatroom either nobody's there or some strange lamer is the only one there. You know, the types that respond to your conversation starting attempts with two word answers after waiting like 5 minutes, and then ditching the chatroom without a 'goodbye' or reason for leaving,

Attendance
I'll try to be there. My internet access is a little sporadic, though, so it may not be possible.

I've decided to declare Broomie's unofficial declaration official...
What I mean is, I've edited Broomie's post to read that the chat will be official. He is the chatroom moderator afterall... why can't he declare an official chat session?
In related news, I've added a suggestion Broomie made to the Chatroom link. It now displays how many people are currently chatting.
I also implemented an idea Brainiac had. If you click the chat link from the KQ1VGA theme, you'll get a KQ1VGA themed chatroom instead of the blue agdi theme.

Nay!
I 'm always access denied when I try to go there, and I'll try to go but I won't be surprised if this stupid thing doesn't let me!

Hi, I just want to say that I think the chat session this Saturday was a success. Quite a few regulars from the forums showed up, off the top of my head: NavyNuke, Erpy, Spikey, Jafar, Blackthorne, Vampgelus (a strange melded entity of Vamp and Angelus
), Fribbi, Soulblighter, Musically Inspired, Meerbat, et al. Sorry if I missed anyone.
There were also a few new people that I've never seen post here before (lurkers, perhaps?). Strangely, I didn't see or hear anything of Broomie, even though he's the one that originated the idea.
Anyways, I was in the chatroom for a couple of hours, and at least I had a good time. Maybe it wasn't the most exciting thing in the world, but it was nice to chat with people in real-time. Not that it will ever replace the forums.
So, I'm just wondering what other people who checked it out thought of it. Was it worthwhile? should another one be scheduled? questions like that.
I myself wouldn't mind seeing a kind of informal meeting in the chatroom every Saturday, though I don't want to burden the admins if they think it's too much of a hassel to supervise. (personally, I don't think it should have to be supervised, most of the people here are trustworthy and decent.) However, I would make the suggestion that the official time be varied from week to week, so that everyone has a chance to check it out at their convenience. The 3 a.m. schedule for Australia probably didn't attract many Aussies
.

Ah, I see. That sucks Broomie. Thank God for backups though!
I see that I forgot to mention Charlemagne, even though he was the one I probably chatted the most with.
Sorry Carolus Magnus.
BTW, do you guys think I use too many emoticons in my posts? Looking over them, it kinda seems like I use too many.
