Wolf's bane?

#1 Post by Fleur » Tue Jan 11, 2005 11:38 am

I've just discovered in Erpy's walkthrough that you're supposed to use the wolf's bane on yourself when the wolf attacks you to get full points...but I how do I know it exists?
What is my motivation to go to grandma's house to get it after coming out of the swamp? After all, I need to find the tiara quickly, so the first impulse is to rush to the church graveyard - and then it's too late, I have to killl the wolf with my sword.
So that's kind of illogical isn't it?

Curiousity and the tendency to explore things... that's basically all. In the initial version of the game, that solution didn't even exist at all. People didn't like the fact that a violent solution (slaying the wolves) got you points in a KQ-game, so we were pressed to create an additional solution to that particular situation and Wookie came up with the wolfsbane potion. Naturally, the town would be closed by then and the church wasn't very likely to have that stuff for obvious reasons. We figured the most logical person to have this kind of item would have been grandma, as a last resort if the pack would track her down in some way. And naturally, she'd have it under her pillow.

Reverse logic, I know. :)

Oh well...the only thing that's bothering me is that I don't know I'm going to be attacked by wolves soon...the only thing on my mind when I come out of that swamp is to get that tiara before the sun rises...so couldn't the Countess give me a word of warning about wolves and drop me a hint about something in her house?

hey im up to the part of retrieving the tierra back to the castle and suddenly approached by a gang of wolves and its leader. I can knife only the two wolves from the outside, but only to be eating up by the other. and can't come close enough to knife the leader. I know there's a clue which it says try a long distance approach. Im guessing to throw it, however uncapable. Any futher light on this matter Im missing??

Try making a long range weapon.

This one had me stuck too.

You're on the right track. Look around in what limited space you're trapped in for something you could use to help propel the needle; simply throwing it isn't going to work, you have to make a proper projectile of it.
