What a great post.

Hmm.   It seems weird to me; not many people seem to drool over the inventory anymore.  Mayhaps it went a little TOO mainstream for some people's tastes?

I think people see the notice, go download it and look at it, but don't feel like they need to talk about it a lot.

That could be it; I just remember some inventory threads having decent discussions about some of the games in it. I dunno.  I've heard grumbles from some people that it's not as "indie" as it used to be.  Personally, I still enjoy it.

Im not into the Inventory anymore unless its something Sierra related. I find it boring reading about something I dont care about.

See what I mean?  Folks only dig it for certain reasons around here....

I like Sierra, but I'm also a huge LucasArts fan too.  I think The Secret Of Monkey Island is like my favorite game ever.

It's still a well done (and free) magazine.  I wouldn't read a magazine on Sierra and/or Lucasarts stuff alone, even if there was enough news for one.  But I read the Inventory because I enjoy adventure games in general, and specifically because I'm waiting for the sequel to "The Longest Journey."

Last Express is my favourite game ever, and it's also the best game ever, but nobody will bother to remember it :|

My favourite game is a tie between the Broken Sword Trilogy and Grim Fandango with the Kings Quest Collection following hotly on its heels!

Personally I'm a Sierra freak to the bitter end, but in these harsh times I'll take anything in the adventure vein. I read the Inventory all the time if the games in it look interesting. Think of it this way, though, BT. How many magazines do you read that you feel the need to go online and instantly pick apart piece by piece? When this first came out it was a novelty. Now it's a periodical like Game Informer or PC Gamer or something like that. Not to say it's run of the mill or that it doesn't have its popularity, but people won't talk about stuff in it unless they want to talk about the stuff they hear about in it. The Inventory is now just like another outlet for game news, and people don't discuss the news they don't care about that much. Doesn't mean they don't read or think about it, though.

Well, I believe that The Inventory is a great idea in principle, but lately the author has been too subjective for my tastes. He doesn't show the adventure gaming world as a whole, he merely shows the part that he happens to enjoy. I think a magazine should be broader than that.

Normally I read the comics in the inventory and about the game created by AGS. I remember when they put some puzzles and riddles related to some Sierra games. What happened to that? What I want to see in the Inventory are some AGS code of the month shared from those AGS gamemakers. That could be really interesting for those who want to learn more on AGS.

And I think it will be really good if they can display top 10 list about PS2, PC and Xbox, Nintendo games of the months.

Yes but that pretty much defines the idea of an adventure magazine, Fribbi.  :p

Yeah and why the heck there isn't a Half Life 2 review?  ;)
