happy birthday to me ... :\

#1 Post by seeker of rain » Sun May 22, 2005 9:55 pm

i'm 26 today, and i made some thinking - what have i done in my life until now, after all 26 years isn't short time... and right now when i look back it looks like i didn't do anything significant for myself or for the society.

well i guess that it isn't the place to complain about such things , but have you experienced such thing - i mean felt such things or made self criticism at your birthday ? (after all it isn't logical to do it specifically then)

It's all right to want better for yourself and society.  You could start by learning to capitalize the word 'I'.  It refrences YOU and you're important.  Plus, you're twenty-six.  Proper grammar is a step towards competency.

Self-critiscm is the first step to a high road.  Don't let the underpinings of self pity and martyrdom bring you down.  You've plenty of time to rectify your own personal sins and demons.  Believe in yourself.

Happy birthday.

Blackthorne, he's not a native English speaker :p There are enough natives here that don't capitalize "I".

Congrats. :)

Heh. I guess that's why this community exist. QfG is all about 'doing something for society'. That's probably why we've all started our own development projects.

I haven't really played a game for almost 10 years. So, creating games for me isn't about 'I want a new QfG, so I'll do it myself'! It's about creating something, have fun doing it, and to take pleasure in other people's enjoyment of the game.

My point: Join a amateur development team.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

I haven't really done much in my life either but I'm still youngish.

The most I have done be that I've brought a new life into this world and busy bringing it up. I guess thats something  :)

Vamp if you think you've accomplished even close to little I geuss I don't have a clue of what accomplished is. Simply put to me if you're happy at the moment and it seems you'll stay that way you're as accomplished as you'll ever need to be. And Rain Seeker never look down, because if you do you'll scare yourself off the high wire. I have a feeling that everyone is important in their own right and even the dead affect the future. (in the sense that say referring to old honest Abe may stop someone from suicide thus altering that persons future if Abe had never existed)
