Whoohoo!
According to the presentation material demonstrated on the Annual Operation Strategy Meeting, Sony has sold 6 million PSPs all around the world. And the sales in Europe were the best ever in the history of the PSP sales.

And still, they rate to lose money for the first time in 10 years. Go figure.

Nope. Sony are going to change a whole bunch of things.
For example, they're going to change their focus towars production of computerchips, HD televisions and celll phone applications. And they're going to sack 10.000 people and close 11 factories.

well I just completed Broken Sword II and just ahd to tell someone about it. Although I don't think it was as good as the first one it still had the same atmosphere. A little less wit maybe but a little more plot. Now I just have to order Broken Sword III before IV comes out. Does anyone (Angelus) know how III compares to the first two?

BS3 is obviously 3D but Deb and I think it still has a strong BS spirit and has the same wit and humour as the previous 2. Definetly worth a play if you love BS. Its just as good, if not better!!

Its Grim Fandango style but it works alot better.
OMG!!! This day will go down in history!! The PSP firmware version 2.0 has finally been cracked. A few days ago a buffer overflow exploit was found and today a downgrader has been released so users can downgrade to the 1.50 firmware which allows legal homebrew games and emulators to be run!! All European users (including myself) were stuck with 1.52 firmware so all PSP owners in Europe will be celebrating right now! I can't wait to downgrade my PSP!!!
Priorites come first though and Katherine is ill so my PSP is taking a back seat.

sounds like good news. I have Baldurs gate coming in the mail and I need to beat it for a book report (long story) but after that I will probalby order Broken Sword 3 next. The PSP news is cool although I'm still not buying one. Finally but most importantly I'm sorry to hear Katie is sick. I had a bad cold all this month and I hope she feels better soon.

So its 11/10.
Did anyone order the King's Quest Compilation or SQ, LSL and PQ??
I find it strange that there's no pictures of further information about the compilations. You'd think they'd at least mention for example that the King's Quest Compilation has KQ 1-6 etc.
EDIT: According to Rotten Tomatoes

Maybe Ingram were the ones who modified the games to run on XP...?

I never got informed 100% for sure that this what what the modifications would be. I was only told they would be modified. The platform listed at Amazon.com says XP, but mistakes have been made... I haven't ordered a copy yet because I wanted to hear how well everything actually ran on today's systems.

Yea, I'd rather hear about that too, I'd also like to see some box art etc.
Has no-one ordered this then?
In other news the D-Pad on my PSP just refuses to let me move diagonally which is really frustrating when trying to do a fireball in Street Fighter II or even just jump backwards or forwards in said game.
I'm getting a new PSP from Sony on friday but I've read alot of forum that say thats just how the PSP D-Pad is. Its mainly because the centre of the D-Pad is actually below the casing which makes it hard to get a slack rotational diagonall press, but I think mine may have sunken a bit as diagonall only works if you push hard on the diganoll each of the arrows.
I guess I'll have to see what happens on Friday when I get my new one.

I'm not going to consider getting them until the KQ9 issue is resolved, one way or another.
edit: And what's with forgetting the QFG series?

To be honest, I doubt Vivendi will relate lack of compilation sales to the shutting down of KQ9. They are more likely to think it is due to lack of interest in adventure games. The way I see it, if you are upset about KQ9, you should inform Vivendi. Either email them and/or sign one of the petitions that have been started up. I personally don't think you should let the KQ9 ordeal affect whether or not you purchase the compilations. If they sell enough copies of the games, it might prove to them that interest in the genre is still there. If they get enough complaints about KQ9, it will also go to prove that there is still interest in the genre. Once they see that there is interest, they may see the possibility of making money. If enough people complain about KQ9, they might think that for each 100 complaints, they might be able to sell a few copies of the game. If the numbers are high enough, they might even commission Phoenix to finish out the game and make it commercial.
My two cents anyway...

That's a good point, Navy. The more copies the sell, the more likely it will rekindle corporate interest in the genre. On the other hand, I'm dirt poor right now, and I have to save my pennies for Al Emmo when it comes out. I suppose I'll make my decision once I see what, if any, improvements are made.

Good to hear Fender178. Let us know. I ordered them too, from Amazon... but I live in Canada. So it'll be a number of weeks before they get to my US friend and he redirects them to me. They're cheap... but not cheap enough that you can just blow off the money. I'm very interested to see what they actually are.
I'm very doubtful that any amount of real work has been done on the games. And even if any work has been done, it's likely a hack job. I wouldn't trust anyone to do that kind of work except for someone who is also a Sierra fan and member of the community, such as the patches that NewRisingSun made for example.
Ingram appears to be only a distributor:

Users beware!
There are now trojan viruses for PSP and DS which will destroy your firmware turning your console into a brick.
Of course your totally safe unless you are loading hombew apps which you arent 100% sure are ok.

Got my new PSP today, the D-Pad still isnt perfect but walking diagonal in Streets of Rage for example is about 70% easier!
