AGS Jukebox : navynuke04

#1 Post by jayjech » Fri Feb 01, 2008 9:48 pm

AGS JukeBox is a nifty program that provides a pleasant interface for playing tunes from the "music.vox" file associated with most adventure games.  It was developed by our own navynuke04!

I'm hoping that since navynuke04 is a member of these forums, he'll notice this topic and post an updated link.  Otherwise, follow the link to that thread above and you'll find some decent alternatives.  (In my mind, though, AGS JukeBox is the best.)

I did a search for it, but couldn't find it on my hard drive. I also checked all the links where I had it uploaded, but it seems they are now dead.

If anyone has a copy, I'd appreciate if you'd share with me. I could upload it so that it is available to everyone again.

Old Copy

I have an old copy, kept in my "KQ2+ Soundtrack" folder, along with a copy of the game's music.vox file.  Where would you like me to send it, Navy?

Here's what Brainiac sent me. Unfortunately, this isn't the last version I made. The next version had a couple of fixes. One of which gave it the ability to run in the background while you did other things. It was nice to use for listening to music while surfing, etc...

Anyway, here's AGSJukebox v2.0

Thanks for sending it to me Brainiac!

Here's my copy. I'm not 100% sure but I think it's the one that can run in the background because I've used it to record songs with Goldwave. I can't test it as I don't have any AGS games currently installed and it doesn't run if there's no music.vox file present.

Yep, this one appears to be the latest and greatest version. It will run in the background, it has clicks when you press buttons, and it supports backwards searching while Auto-Search is active.

It appears as though I didn't update the "Help" button text though.  :o

Hey Navy, I ran across this at Quest Studios.  Is it the latest and greatest as well?

Yep, that appears to be the same version as MI posted. I looked over at Quest Studios, but couldn't find it.

Finding the link

#10 Post by Brainiac » Mon Feb 04, 2008 3:37 am

Yeah, it wasn't easy to track down.  I think there was an old "Utilities" page that hasn't been reset since Tom's layout changeover.  Anyways, I found an out-of-date link for v2.0 on in the "New King's Quest II Soundtrack Page" thread over here and thought to double check the "queststudios.com/utilities/" directory.  Et voila.
