Lol you did have me confused there.
Looks like its a reboot of the franchise, from wiki:
Prince of Persia is a completely new chapter in the series, with a different story than the previous installments, as well as a new graphic style and gameplay elements.
Might have to give it a rent!

Yeah, it's basically a new storyline in the series that is not connected to the other games. (the protagonist is different from the one in POP1/2/3D and different from the one in the Sands of Time Trilogy and he isn't a prince to begin with, apparantly)
I intend to get it, though I haven't played it yet. I did hear a lot about it, mostly good things. New graphic style, protagonist who's more agile than the prince from The Two Thrones, female sidekick whose magic abilities have their own button to use at appropriate times and who apparantly needs no protection (unlike Farah in Sands of Time), no dying (it seems if you fall to your death, your sidekick will warp you to a checkpoint close to the point where you died), focus on one-on-one combat and no fixed level order, though you need to get certain abilities to get to certain places.

Thanks Guys!
Oh man, all of that sounds FANTASTIC. I like it better when the game focuses on the puzzles rather then the combat but if they can balance it, it will be good times had by all.
I HATED Farah in the first game (haven't played the later games so I don't know if she or anyone like her reappears). She was so useless and whiny!
I'll miss our Sands of Time Prince but he looks like he lost his sense of humour by the second game anyway. (I do own Warrior Within, I just haven't gotten around to playing it yet)

I actually liked Farah in Sands of Time. (which is not the first Prince game, btw...it's a pet peeve of mine to correct people who refer to SoT as POP1 and WW as POP2) It was sometimes a pain to provide cover for her in battles where space was limited, but I liked the added challenge too and her arrows were useful in stunning enemies who blocked a lot and countered your vaulting attack. I also liked the interaction between her and the prince.
Yeah, the prince changed a lot after SoT. He was definitely the most likable in that particular game, being rather innocent and naïve in his thinking. Warrior Within takes place 7 years later and after being continually hunted, the prince became a very grim guy. (that and the music were my main gripes with WW, which was still a fun game in itself) In fact, he didn't seem to be any better than the main bosses/npc's in that game. The central theme in Two Thrones was all about his redemption from his WW persona to his former self and Farah played a role in it. (she appeared in the third game in the trilogy, 7 years older too and slightly more independant...no longer actively taking part in battle in that game.)
Anyway, I'm not sure yet what to think of a feature that prevents you from dying...meaning you can keep retrying enemies over and over too. I'd have to experience it to determine whether that'd be a gripe or not.

I don't like the new art direction (or female sidekick) in the ''new'' (latest) PoP. I loved Sands of Time, and Farah esp..what got me into the game was the characterization/depth btw her and the Price, shamle that newer games have too tuff-guy types like Kratos..I liked that the Prince was depicted very huma-n-er-ly..not uber-god-like or w/e, err /endrant =)
I remember a certain bath/pool scene w/ Farah & The Prince. I thought it was a harmless bit of fluff, and handled a lot more tastefully than other things I've seen in games. Tho maybe they should've made it equal w/ regard to exposure of the Prince too =p

I just got a Wii for Christmas, and I also got a 2,000 points redeemable card for the Wii. I spent all the points (which were 500 points each) on getting old school NES games.
Mario Bros. (original), Pinball, Balloon Fight, Donkey Kong, Jr. Math.
My question is, with the redeemable card for 2,000 points, can I redeem it again and again, or do I have to get a new one?

No way. That would be basically free stuff. Nintendo wouldn't allow that. You need to buy new cards.

I recently bought Fable 2. pretty fun game the mechanics are all unique and the story does have some interesting points albeit being kind of weak. Apparently it makes several references to fable 1 but having not played that one (own it I just didn't get into it at all) the story was able to sustain itself just fine. I don't like it as much as I like fallout 3 but it's going to be a long time before a game of that caliber comes around again.

I'm enjoying Kirby's Super Star Ultra for the DS (though I am missing Megaton Punch and Samurai Kirby minigames) and I also got Sam & Max Season One for the Wii. Nice! Played it with my family during vacation and it was great. I haven't actually finished Season One yet (got stuck on Ep 4 and never went back) but they seem a little funner on the Wii anyway with the Wii remote. A little more relaxing doing it on the couch. Plus there's widescreen! It's a little jerkier sometimes when things load and a milisecond gets cut off the end of some characters' speech lines but overall it's very well done and I hope future seasons of Sam & Max get ported to the Wii as well!
I still need to get the SBCG4AP episodes, though!

If you do, you'll have to post about it. I'm curious to see if it's worth downloading on my sister's Wii (I've been following homestarrunner.com for quite a few years now so I think I can probably grasp the game's logic and humour). The only things that makes me weary are the questionable graphics and animation I've seen in the previews, and that it may be to easy. So I wouldn't mind an opinion or two from someone whose experienced it first hand.
I've been playing Lego Batman pretty much non-stop. My God, it's been a while since I laughed so hard at a game (Probably since Destroy all Humans II or my most recent play through of Psychonauts).

Well if Tell Tale gave them the same treatment they gave the Sam & Max episodes I don't think it'll disappoint. Not me, anyway. They're not too easy or too hard. And still all very interesting and, of course, funny.

They're starting to again aren't they? Wario Shake it is quite the throwback, and I think that's always been the premise for the Guilty Gear series.
I enjoy it, but I hope if it catches on they don't take it to far. I personally don't really want to go back to spirit-based RPG's on anything but a hand held (or, obviously, if I'm actually playing one of my ancient consoles.) and I like 2D platformers, but not enough to see every adventure game become one.
I say this only because, as gamers, I'm sure you've seen how the latest phase becomes a frightening mess of clones.

Did you mean sprite based RPGs Lady Pyro?
I don't really mind sprites in modern games as they're usually very detailed and high quality, saying that though once we've tasted the likes of FFXIII its going to be hard to play anything before it in the same light!!
I'm 18 hours into FF7 on my PSP and the graphics show quite well for their age on the PSP screen (cutscenes are still amazing!), not played it since it came out way back when so am absolutley loving replaying it!!

No, Spirit. You know, the games that only work when you sit alone in a graveyard at two A.M and the restless souls of the dead power your gameboy.

lol@Lady Pyro!
Speaking of Street Fighter though I'm considering the collecters pack although depending on budget might have to go for the standard one.
I really wish Erpy had a PS3 though, I'd love a rematch on Street Fighter II with him, it was pretty neck and neck at the time but after playing online ALOT, I feel I'm so much better than I was then.

It was always expected to be 2010, with the Japanese release so far off as it is, english speakers where never gonna get their hands on it in 2009.
Does totally suck though! I just hope this damn 360 port job doesnt hold back the release of the PS3 version.

It will. S-E said they're not starting on the port until the Japanese PS3 version is released and the 360 and PS3 releases are to be simultaneous (at least in the US; don't know about PAL regions). Thus, we have to wait until the entire port is ready rather than just the localization of a completed game. Yeesh.

Why are they porting to the 360 anyway? (I assume it's because the PS3 is bombing but I figured I'd ask in case it's something else)

You're pretty much right. The 360's market share outside of Japan is far more impressive than the PS3's. That, and I'm betting Microsoft paid plenty to break PS3 exclusivity. However, it's only XIII proper. So far, Versus XIII remains PS3-exclusive and Agito XIII has moved from mobile phones to the PSP.

So Agito XIII is out yet or not? I'm tempted to get a PSP now that I have a PS3.
Also, not sure if it's been brought up already, but does anyone know of a way to get a Messenger service working on the PS3, like MSN(Yea, I know) or AIM?

Nope, not yet. I don't think even Japan has an estimated release date yet. The most information I've heard is that Agito will not come out before XIII (so that's at least 2010 over here as well).
